My only concern is do we need to see if there isn't a common consensus on how it originated? If you have 5 agencies and 3 different theories on how it originated it ain't much help. We need more evidence before a solid consensus is reached.

While we're in the common ground thread - wtf happened to the rental car industry nowadays?

Going out of town soon and I'm using Kyte for the first time because all the usual suspects are charging 40-60 a day for a $20 sedan. I typically use Autoslash to find the best deal but all the names on there are totally unfamiliar, Mex Rent-a-car, Kyte, NextCar, Easirent, Fox (who I absolutely loathe after a horrible experience in Denver), Economy, and then Hertz are the best-to-worst in terms of affordability.

Only ever used Enterprise or get a loaner straight from the dealer. Never had a problem.

This is a gear grinder for me. I have a brother who is constantly talking about social media bias and complaining about it but posts on facebook updates about his life multiple times a day. he complains all the time about Tik Tok and China yet is constantly texting me videos he sees and posts on Tik Tok. A major problem is the algorithm in China promotes STEM, tech, etc

The algorithm here promotes videos about dance, cute animals, culture/identity politics and how to break into KIAs

Along with the elephant in the room of the Chinese evil government collecting data in an unbridled fashion

It’s pretty fucking clear, China is using Tik Tok to create divisions here in the US. I was told this bad in the past…or does it only matter when Russia attempts it?
