@JPFinlayNBCS
Ron Rivera makes it official, Commanders will start Jacoby Brissett at QB vs 49ers. “It’s a good time for Sam to get a break.”

Sam probably does want a break from the matadors up front. And his shitty head coach.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

I'm really curious to see what happens next year regarding the QB situation. I'm wondering what an actual qualified GM / HC would want. Wondering if they could just roll with JB especially if he finishes out the season playing well.

We still have an outside shot at getting the #1 overall pick, at worst we're most likely going to be in the 3-5 range. I'd expect a new GM to be all in for a QB at the top of the draft.

JB isn't the answer, good backup any coach would love to have, but he could also want to leave for a better chance to start elsewhere.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Starting JB this year would have given us a ceiling of 8 or 9 wins and probably a one and done in the playoffs. The payoff wasn't going to be enough to save Ron's job.

He rolled the dice on the outside chance Sam could develop into a franchise QB, hanging his hat on Sam's development was the only shot he had to somehow save his job. And even then I'm sure he knew the chance of that happening was slim.
