Re: The Sam Howell Thread

What is long term ? If Brissett was given fair competition in camp he would have been starter .. He was way more prepared and was under a One year deal .. it would have made so much sense to let him start and see what would have happened.. Sam is allready on the team and if JB struggled THEN go to Sam .. it was ass backwards the way Ron did it .. Sam got the job because of one game against Cowboys ..now we have a chance to keep JB and draft a rookie let the kid learn how the NFL works .. if they throw any of the Rookies out there with this supporting cast it will fail ... I sure hope the next coach can see this .

Ron went with Sam to try and save his job.

Had the year gone well and Sam flourished Ron could claim it was his staff that drafted and developed him, and then argue that ownership should keep that connection intact.

The wheels fell off with Sam and Ron’s chances of returning collapsed with it.

At this point it doesn’t matter who plays so Ron is trying to save his overall record from dropping below .500

It don’t matter who starts v SF and Dallas. We ain’t beating either one of them. Dallas could beat us with their backup QB.

I would think Ron had to win to keep his job and picking Sam to start was just another bad choice Ron made.

There was no other option than to start Sam this year.

No because he would have won us 6 games and had the 12th pick or whatever again..

I’m fine with 4-13

Preach.

Howell might not be the answer but Brissett and Heinicke aren't either. This defense has been ass the entire year.

Some of you guys are acting like we're a qb away from contending. We're not. We're a qb, an offensive line and an entire defense.

Jacoby is a good QB but he’s been a journeyman for a reason. Similar to Tyrod and Fitz…

It’s time to draft that face of the franchise QB.

We all liked how the team played up for him but in the end he is not an NFL starter. While most everyone here would say how they really liked "Him" we probably all agree he is not the answer.
