Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Skins Trade ... Again
Skins trade their 5th round pick while on the clock. They send the 157th pick and the 228nd pick (7th round) for the Rams picks at 168 and 180 - both sixth round picks. So the Skins end up without a 5th round pick after all, but have three 6th round picks and two 7th round picks, both of those are comp picks at the end of the draft. Both QBs they like are still out there, and a few DTs as well |

So in the end we're going to have 10 draft picks...I'm cool with that.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
If someone had shown me the last few picks of the 5th round, I would have thought it was the last few picks of the 3rd round.
22(157) St. Louis (From Tennessee through Washington) Roy Schuening OG OREGON STATE 23(158) Chicago (From Seattle through Jacksonville and Tampa Bay) Kellen Davis TE MICHIGAN STATE 24(159) Jacksonville Trae Williams CB SOUTH FLORIDA 25(160) Tampa Bay (From San Diego through New England) Josh Johnson QB SAN DIEGO 26(161) Indianapolis Marcus Howard OLB GEORGIA 27(162) NY Jets (From Green Bay) Erik Ainge QB TENNESSEE 28(163) Seattle (From Dallas) Owen Schmitt FB WEST VIRGINIA 29(164) New Orleans (From New England) Carl Nicks OT NEBRASKA I would have liked Schmitt, Nicks, Williams, or Shuening at the 157th pick. I like trading down to acquire more picks, but with those quality guys on the board at 157, we'd better get someone decent in the 6th. I don't think I know of anyone left on the board. |
