Re: Let's talk good beer
Yeah you get an email everyday, if you like the offer you just respond with how many you want. Haven't seen anything yet that interests me.

Re: Let's talk good beer
Prison City brewery -- apparently a really really good start up brewery in Auburn, NY. Lots of hype, ive read about them a couple of different places now. I dont think their beers are being distributed yet but if anyone see it on shelves, can you post where please?
--------------- finally found some fresh two hearted, with a somewhat tweaked label. Been a long time since I found some within 30 days fresh. rar - has anyone else noticed that their beer is now 60 plus days old on the shelves? They always had fresh beer (w in 15 days) but since they took over their own distribution a few months ago, i have not seen fresh rar in over a month. they all have early july dates. weird and disappointing. they were a go-to for fresh, juicy good local beer. I wonder if distributors didnt somehow sabotage them.

Re: Let's talk good beer
Re: most spent on a case: Has to be Tree House when i went up in April. Averaged out to like $100/case (if had been able to buy a case...Haze and Alter Ego were around $4.25/can). Next to that is Rar, which was $70-80/case of their monthly releases. Going to hit up Veil soon and that'll be around $90/case. And then Trillium in Boston can be upwards of $120/case. Mostly mixed cases, will drink some, gift some, trade some.
rar - I haven't bought any in a while, but I'll keep an eye out for it. My local shop usually has fresh, but who knows. If they're doing their own distro, they'll definitely be siding towards the shop that hock their beers the most. They used to go through Legends...which is one of the bigger distros for craft in MD. otm - Perfect Pour is an awesome shop. I get out there once in a blue moon. And now that you're in Columbia, you'll be frequenting Victoria's, Frisco's and White Oak Tavern more frequently. Auburn NY you say? One of my wife's sorority sisters/best friends is a cop for Auburn PD with her husband. I'll have to put in a request for a sampler. They are getting together in Denver next month, so I'm gonna see what she can bring back from there that we can't get here as well.

Re: Let's talk good beer
I don't really know anything that reminds me of yeungling...it's been such a staple since I was able to have beer since it's so close to me. There used to be this really cheap beer called Lakeport lager that my friends and I all thought tasted similar, and it was super cheap. Not sure if that stuff even exists anymore since it's been 15 years or so since we got it for beer pong tournaments..

Re: Let's talk good beer
In addition, the placebo effect is strong. Yuengling is hard for me to drink these days cause I found out they brew with corn and corn grit, so now whenever I drink it I feel like I can taste corn. Really turned me off to it, even though I'm sure it's just in my head.

Re: Let's talk good beer
I have a Pernicious in my fridge. Glad they've finally made it to the area. Just need MD to step up their game and let all these breweries sling their wares in stage.
Re: Yuengling - Brother In law's favorite beer. Easy drinking. Give these a try: If You Like Yuengling, You Should Try These 5 Beers Too — Tapped In | The Kitchn Flying Dog hosts a Movie Series at the Weinberg Center in Frederick. Happy Hour ($4 FD beers, usually have 4-5 to choose from, a few brewery reps hang out and answer questions) before the movie starts. Only bummer is no alcohol in the theatre itself, so you slam a few in the lobby beforehand. 1st Movie (The Big Lebowski) is tonight: Flying Dog Film Series | Weinberg Center for the ArtsWeinberg Center for the Arts I've been slacking lately on the beer front. Time and money have been 2 factors. Going to grab some new stuff this weekend. May even slide down to Leesburg to grab some WW.
