Maybe I'm reading to much into it...but knowing how important chemistry between QB/WR is I tend to think Manning would have liked continuity in his supporting cast.
One thing I like to do is read opinions about players from fans of the team that lost him. The vast majority of the posts on SF forums were sad to see him go. For a young player that's a very positive sign. To flip it, think of what jet fans see with what a lot of people have to say about Landry.

Honestly I haven't been on a Niners board, but one of my guys in the office is a longtime fan and doesn't think Morgan is a legit starter. He's supposedly not fast enough to outrun CBs and safeties. He sounds like a lesser version of Gaffney but doesn't know the system.

SFRedskin is a big fan of Morgan, he thinks he'll end up better than Garcon.

The move to draft a qb at 2 alone is worth the A

Saying his account was hacked and seems believable IMO.

I know they're not special in the grand scheme of things I suppose, but I wouldn't underestimate the value of bring Kory L. and Montgomery back. For that matter, even Adam Carriker.

I thought we already re-signed Carriker? And I don't quite follow what you mean in value...Kory L. starting is that much better than his backup starting? I don't remember him being being above average...

Lichtensteiger will be back by training camp. Montgomery was signed to a 4 year extension before free agency started, I think. And Adam Carriker signed a deal to stay in Washington too.

If Kory L is healthy and back to form, he's certainly more than capable at LG. Overall, the health of our starters on the OL will be key.

I know we've got all those guys back. By value, I really meant include them when talking about addressing the o-line. Because it's often as much about who you are able to keep as you who add.

Montgomery is versatile and Kory is young and was actually doing very well at the end of 2010/start of 2011 before he got hurt

This. It's amazing how little respect Kory L. and Will M. get on here. They're not world beaters but both of them are very solid for what we ask of them.

Smoot, some of the ES insiders have been hinting that Jim Haslet is on borrowed time, and that if Raheem Morris can pick up the 3-4 defense, then he'll be the new DC the following year. Heard any rumblings?
