Re: Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins Has Torn ACL

It is rather unfortunate, but it is a good thing the FO took precautionary measures. In reality, they could reduce preseason to two games, the proposal about the 18 game season with only 2 preseason games showed that.

Re: Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins Has Torn ACL

The way I see it I am thrilled with the trade off we got against the Ravens.

The outcome was more than important. It could be worth everything.

NFL players go down all the time. Every game.

Jenkins looks like a very fine pick, but the Washington Redskins MORE THAN HELD THEIR OWN against the Baltimore Ravens in a game that NFL teams "come to play" in and quite honestly we made those bitches look nervous....... and hardly anybody does that to Baltimore.

After smacking around the Steelers and Colts what do you think is going through the minds of this team?

They are thinking f this! We can play with anyone.

This is a major breakthrough.

MAJOR.

not really a trade off when it's unnecessary. We didn't gain a good showing against bmore by having Jenkins go down.

In fact we looked significantly worse after he went down.

Re: Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins Has Torn ACL

I don't think we looked worse. I think Scott can be a gap filler this year after looking at some of his game tape this preseason. he seems to struggle against the run and doesn't break to many double teams, but I think he could get better if he learns to use his hands a little better and with more playtime.

In Nickel packages I would like to see us put Cofield in Jenkins spot to still get a great push. I was really looking forward to Jenkins becoming a mold/starter in this soon to be great 3/4 defense. If he would of panned out and stayed on the track he was on. He could of done great things this year, and our draft board would of looked like genious's

I'm very serious. I see what you're trying to say but I just don't agree that it had to take an injury to Jenkins to let the team know that someones gotta pick up the slack. I'm sure that's something that instilled in them in training camp, practice, etc.

I wish you a full speedy recovery JJ#99. I think will we wait to see teams trim down their rosters and see who gets cut this week. We know Daniels is out there but I rather bring a younger D-lineman in to fill the spot or a vet who can fit our 3-4 defense.

Well........now that you mention it, if there is a bright spot....the timing is pretty good as we will have had a few days to review who is available and may have an opportunity in the coming few weeks to steal a potential quality guy that another team was quietly trying to.....squirrel away on the PS or wherever,

I'm sure the team as a whole realizes they need to step it up, regardless of injury or not. I think what Wilso is saying that now since it's a reality that a major part of the defense is injured, they rest of them needs to make sure they don't miss a beat.

I think what's sort of being lost in all of this is the possibility that Adam Carriker could actually might have a good season, mininizing the lost of Jarvis Jenkins.

Agree. Carriker will be solid. Obviously not wanting to lose Jenkins, but a year in the Skins strength/conditioning program and learning the system will only be a huge benefit when he returns next year at full strength. It will be like an extra draft pick that has an impact in 2012 when we should be poised for a playoff run.
