Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Evan Silva & Jason LaCanfora reporting that Skins could be interested in trading for Kyle Orton. Anyone else hear anything about this?
Would Orton be welcome as our QB? Would he get us to the Super Bowl? |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
skinsfaninok and I have only been talking about Orton, well, since forever. I really hope we could make that move, I think it would really help us a lot. I would like to hear that from someone other than J La though.

We have two mediocre AT BEST, one solid but injury prone, and one rookie yet to even take a pro carry. Someone explosive would be nice, that's all.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Reportedly Orton is choice #1 for the Dolphins, but right now they won't give up more than a 4th (and maybe a conditional pick or player) for him and Denver won't take less than a 2nd...so I suppose they could compromise and send him to Miami for a 3rd

Haynesworth for Orton. Win-win for both teams.

Gak....no picks for Orton.
He's not a long term answer.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
If we could move Mcnabb for a 4th or 5th, I would definitely look into trading for Orton. Haynesworth and the 4th or 5th we attained for McNabb. He just turned 28, and with the reports putting Santnio Holmes in Washington, Its best we have a QB that can get the ball down the field and produce. Orton is the best bet in my eyes to making this squad better in the short term, and he sure isn't a bad long term prospect either. Somehow patch up the OLine, which I think we will with the reemergence of J. Brown and the replacment of Rabach, not to mention one additional season getting used to the zone blocking scheme, and I definitely wouldnt mind seeing Kyle Orton slinging the ball to Holmes, Moss, Hankerson and Cooley in the B&G. Plus, he wont command a really high salary.
Plus we all know the ties Shanny has with Elway. Him keeping quiet on the issue and putting his "faith" in Beck might just be the smokescreen to keeping the price on Orton low, and to shield our interest in him. Orton is the best choice at QB for this team. Lets get it done. |

You're tripping rainbows if you think that man. That's just crazy talk. I just hit the mute button on you until the first game of the preseason. Sorry...

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Orton was injured and they went with Tebow the rest of the way to evaluate him. It's not like he was benched due to performance reasons.
