Interesting about Bills fans having their eye on Newton. Never consider him going there. Seems like a good fit. |

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?
The fans in Arizona like Kaepernik(sp?) and would like McNabb as a mentor for a couple of years. I can see their way of thinking when you consider an " over the hill QB" took them to the SB. Their 1st round savior QB never panned out.

I do not like Locker as a prospect anymore. Right now it's looking to me that if we draft him it'll simply give us a younger version of McNabb. Only difference being he'll come with comparable straight line speed to that of Michael Vick.

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?
Cam Newton Stats: 188.2 QB Rating, 2589 yds, 28 TD, 6 INT, 65.2 cmp%. With a passer rating of just .6 behind the nation's best. I want a pass rushing freak, but won't be terribly upset with a pick of Cam.

I can't understand why most fans of Locker make excuses for his play. It seems as if there is a conspiracy out there that these fans subscribe to that says that the draft world wants to ban Locker from being selected in the first two rounds. Some call the Senior Bowl nothing but a scrimmage and not to be taken seriously. Others concede Lockers deficiencies but think that his bad habits are correctable by the right coach. Let's take the pressure off of Locker's shoulders and let him become the project that he is. My hope is that the Redskins stay away from him. There are better accomplished draftable QBs out there if you really want one. Other QBs with Michael Vick attributes are Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick. |

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?
Remember though Newton had one good season only. My question is will it last. Locker has also been ify in my mind this year not sure. Ponder to me would be awesome because of his experience. Even an Andy Dalton. These guys rock cause its not the fricken first pick we have to get them. I also hope Mcnaab and Haynesworth get traded for picks. Portis is an ify trade in my mind cause he is so good at pass protection. But picks would be nice.....

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?
Heck theres a good amount of fans in Arizona that think they can "develop" John Skelton. I've seen some that believe that McNabb would be a good mentor for Skelton and others who want Skelton to become the starter. Most importantly though I keep on seeing post and articles that say the Cardinals have minimal interest in McNabb. In terms of accuracy though Skelton makes McNabb look like Drew Brees.

If Locker falls to the second we should definately take him. Keep McNabb and let him become Kyle's project.

Here Donny this child isn't yours but please be a good sport and raise him as your own. Teach him the ways of the dirt ball.

I just wonder if when the first team picks a QB if the other teams will panick and start drafting QB's also. I'm guessing if a HC has their sights set on any one QB and he gets taken prior to their pick teams might look elsewhere with their pick, but I can see most teams having a few QB's on their list... a #1 if available, a #2 as a consolation prize, and a #3 for those who drastically need a QB. |

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?
^ On a side note....
If any of the QB's fall to us in the 5th round should we take him? JKing. For those who believe Locker is 1st round talent then I think it's obvious he should be picked if he falls to the second round. No different then any other position with a top tier player still on the board at their position. Unfortunatly after seeing Locker's senior year and his horrid Senior Bowl there are many who believe that the projected 3-4th rounders played better so either they should be bumped up to 1st rounders and Locker 2nd or Locker shouldn't be picked until after the 3-4th round. Just my opinion which I'm sure amounts to a hill of beans.... if that. The Senior Bowl might have been just a practice for some, I've always had the mind set that you want to leave a lasting impression. No different then the NFL... McNabb started out well and everyone fell on board with us trading for him and got excited about the possibilities.... then the second half of the season came along and what impression was left of Mcnabb? Just looking at who did well and who didn't in the Senior Bowl. Prior to the Senior Bowl everyone was talking about Locker, then he came out laying an egg and between fans and media he's no longer on the pedistal he once was on. Ponder and Dalton came out and Killed the Senior Bowl and it actually helped their image. If they were 3rd or 4th round prospects I think they have either boosted their image to either late 1st round or 2nd round picks. Again maybe it's just me. |

I don't think team operate like fan's and become married to one prospect unless they pick top 5 and know they'll have 1st choice. I think the interview process at the combine, the personal visits and private workouts will go a long way to ultimately decided the draft order. Nothing that happens would surprise me though I could see 1 or 2 QBs being taken in the 1st round or maybe all 4 QBs get taken in 1st round. You never know. BTW-I think you're vastly over representing the QBs performances good and bad and over valuing the importance of the SB in general. |
