Is he ever going to be a dynamic play maker that turns turd players into gold like Manning or Brees? No. But he has the same physical skill set that Tom Brady does. He struggles mentally compared to Brady but he isn't a dolt. I do have suspicions about his read ability. Part of me wonders if he has so much football in his head that he is lost in a football jungle but I also see the guy get destroyed every other play, lay on the ground for a few seconds and then get up and take the next snap. If I am an offensive player that freaking inspires me. His on field example is just top-notch to me.

And Rave...you forget what Ramsey was like after a couple seasons. JC is 5 times the QB Ransey ever was. He had didn't have the head for it at all and then he got scared.
Agreed. I have a creeping fear that if we let JC go, in the future we are cursing it when he beats us while playing for someone else.

If we'd have won the Dallas, Philly and New Orleans games, all of which we held 4th quarter leads that the defense blew, we'd be on the cusp of a .500 season. Would we still be having this discussion?
JC has definitely regressed in a year he should've been able to step up and show improvement. JC and the Skins need to part ways. JC is a class act and a warrior, but he will never be a successful NFL QB. He continues to make the same mistakes with his progressions, ball security, and appears lost in reading the defense. As SS mentioned he continues to make mistakes in situations when he is put in a position to have to make a play.

One of the very telling stats from MNF was that the Skins have thrown 77% of their passes within 10 yds of the LoS. This is not simply a protection issue, this is an issue of a QB who has difficulty making reads and accurate throws downfield. JC's issues are not the fault of the OL, when he has had time he still makes these mistakes.

There-in lies the problem. Brady makes checks and plays based on what he sees in the D. I see JC doing very little, if any of that. Hell, he can't even read CB blitzes.

Well, that's not exactly fair. He has read CB blitzes before, despite his failure against the Cowboys.

Very true and threw an incompletion at the end of the Eagles game on 4th and 2. I was just curious if people are basing their feelings on frustration with our overall record this year, JC's performance, what they assess JC to be as a QB or projecting to what that position will look like next year without JC.

JC could have made this question moot throughout the year with consistent play at even a medium high level but playing like he did vs. Oakand and New Orleans and the way he played the last 2 games makes it a very legitimate question.

I disagree...Brady has been running that offense for years and has a good line and weapons. JC is going on the second year and they don't let him really make any audibles. It was Portis who said he hadn't heard an audible since he was in Denver.

I wonder what changed

Q: What is the trademark of this offense compared to the one you ran before?

A: The trademark of the offense is mismatches, actually. It is finding a way to get guys one-on-one. Before it was, “This is what we are going to do no matter what they do. They have to stop us.” And you know, fortunately for them, more than not, they had the opportunity to stop us. We didn’t have audibles before. Right now if we are in a bad play, we can get out of that play. Jason has the opportunity to put up the audibles and change things around and get us points. So I think everybody is just excited

Here is JC at the line "Green 40, Green 40 Set" O shit down goes Campbell he didn't see that corner blitz to audible the play, or Campbell steps up and throws a rocket overthrown screen pass that gets a Pick 6!!! No thanks

I disagree. It is mostly about lack of protection. As a result, the passing attack has been relegated to mostly 3-step drops, which will typically yield passes within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. Very, very few QBs would be successful taking the beating that Campbell has this year. The Saints made Tom Brady look pretty ordinary a few weeks back when they hit him a dozen+ times.

He's setting career highs pretty much across the board so he's definitely improved. The improvement may not have been drastic, but considering everything that's happened around him, any sort of improvement is noteworthy IMO.

As for the short throws, I wouldn't put that all on him. The offense was scaled back to include more 3 step drops, and quicker shorter throws once the OL went to shit.

Said it before and might as well say it here too. No way. He's my number one guy to cut. He cannot decide quickly where to throw the ball unless he's already made up his mind previous to the snap. It is what it is.
