If you notice most of the time the injury list is not up dated until like tuesday or wednesday of the week and with us having a buy maybe we did not have to post it if he was injured until like tues or wed. of this week. I was just asking because people were posting like it was a fact when I would say that they are assuming.

Worried about what? Lloyd is out. Caldwell and McCardell was a good signing. Not only was Caldwell a Patriot, but was the leading receiver last year.

That Moss has a really bad injury. I remember reading this article in the Post about Lloyd being recommitted this year and giving it everything he's got...what happened to all that?? Is he simply just a bitch in practice or something...he obviously has talent so it's got to be his mouth that's keeping him off the field.

Is Lloyd hurt? I didn't even know that...or are you saying he's "out of the lineup due to performance issues"?

This signing makes me nervous cause it means to me that we are pressing the panic button in terms of WR. However, I understand our depth sucks, and McCardell is a class act. I do like the signing a lot, just worried we are in more trouble than anyone is letting on.

You gotta ask yourself, how many winning teams sign someone off the free agent list after the season starts to be thier 3rd wr??? (we now have done it twice)

i am almost certain moss wont play this week. this is a big game for us. we need to score points v.s the Lions cause the will score some points. we need all of our corners healthy and need taylor and landry at the top of there game. cause lions are very pass happy. if moss is out i hope lloyd gets some more snaps and hope he can make some plays. this situation is hard to figure out. he hasnt complained to the media or made selfish comments so far. we have another archeluta situation brewing again

Man, I hope not...he's listed as questionable right now, but I am holding out hope that the extra week will help him...he is a trooper and knows we need him badly this week!

Re: Rumor: Redskins sign Keenan McCardell

Hogs.net had some inside info on Moss. The reporter for the Post has heard from Redskins officials that Moss will definitely be out for a while (beyond the Detroit game). That said, I'm somewhat optimistic about our passing game. ARL is totally solid, all the way through the season, count on it. Caldwell has something to prove because NE cut him after leading the team in receptions. That's especially harsh because Belichick has always been known for the best intuition at trading washed up players at just the right time. It would really surprise me if Caldwell doesn't fight for every inch and really provide a lift. However, I don't think he should start right away. Thrash needs to start. We need the guy w/ the best hands in their right now (think of all the drops passes up to this pt.) and Thrash is the guy. Plus, like Gibbs says nobody works harder than Thrash. If he starts its a good sign, then Caldwell will get worked in. At this pt., fuck Lloyd. That guy doesn't fight for anything let alone every inch. That intercepted pass from Campbell in week 1 was 100% on Lloyd. Not saying he should have caught it but he damn well could have broken up the int by fighting for the ball. His career should be over.

Wahoo, another mediocre WR! I am licking my chops for when Justin Cribbs gets released. Shortest and worst WR corps. in the NFL.

Re: Rumor: Redskins sign Keenan McCardell

If Moss is out by the way, it looks like Thrash will get the nod (per the Washington Post)

Quote:
The Redskins' primary starting receiver designations are the "Z" -- a position Moss plays that involves lots of shifting, multiple formations and more varied routes -- and "X" -- Randle El's starting spot that is primarily a split end with more vertical routes. Al Saunders, associate head coach, said that if Moss cannot play -- which he thought unlikely -- then "the guy that would step in there would be James Thrash." Randle El also will get some practice work at the "Z" this week, while Lloyd is primarily an "X" and Caldwell began to get practice work at the "Z" last week.

"The easiest position to learn is 'X,' with less variations," Saunders said. "So usually when guys first come in they start at 'X' and [we] get him comfortable, and then give some exposure to 'Z.' "
