Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide

Someone please tell me what has T.O. sowed that's worthy of reaping possibly losing his life??

If he's not worthy of compassion, then none of us are!

Comparing TO and soldiers is apples and oranges, but my point was that there are people in this country that die every day that have given much more of themselves for the benefit of others than TO. A lot of people are acting like we would be losing a national treasure if TO died, and that reaction just seems a little over dramatic.

Wow, you interpretted THAT the wrong way.

Quick translation: He didn't care about anyone else so no one else cares about him. Got it?

You are 100% correct.

Unfortunately, look at us, we also fell into the media hype and Owens' own craving for nonstop attention.

He's like a bad rash that you can't ignore.

Yeah Meast, we don't want to see a report about you and AMD on TSG.

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide

I think to a man/woman everyone here acknowledges the fact that our men and women are dying in Iraq daily. We're extremely grateful for that too.

I don't think T.O. getting so much attention takes away or undermine their efforts in any way, I might add. But like I said, since T.O., because of antics, is now a celebrity in his own right, whenever he twitches it's news worthy. And just because it's newsworthy, we have no right to pass moral judgement on him as an individual.

I don't know what you think I interpreted the wrong way, but I'm open to finding out. No one cares? Maybe not here on Warpath, but surely someone somewhere is hearbroken over this.

The denials begin.... Who could have predicted....

"Former NFL player Deion Sanders told the NFL Network that he had spoken to Owens and Owens said, "Man, that didn't happen," referring to reports of a suicide attempt. Sanders relayed that Owens said the pain medication did not agree with him and when coupled with supplements he was taking, it left him incoherent when asked about the suicide attempt."

I think you summed it up perfectly AJFC.

TO makes millions of dollars as an NFL receiver. He could be considered one of the best in the game based on his performances on the field. All of his negative publicity was due to him being an ass over and over again. He brought it all on himself. Now we're supposed to feel sorry for him, because he's a human? "Don't cry for me Argentina" Eff him.

And this isn't directed at you per se, PSU...but why are we suddenly judging T.O. Especially since we don't know the whole story. But whatever.
Just clarification:
See prior post RE: McNabb, Garcia, locker room cancer, etc.

And I don't think anyone is worthy of forgiveness who hasn't actually sought forgiveness or admitted to doing something wrong. T.O. has never expressed any regret for his actions against teammates.......so why would I forgive someone who's never asked for it, shown any remorse whatsoever, or admitted they were wrong?

As for judging him? I, for one, judged him to be an a$$hole for years now. Nothing about these recent events has changed my opinion.
