Re: Let's talk beer

Also, a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup is the best lunch in my book.

Actually no, I had some of the wife's leftover chicken parm. But I'll wait for someone to pick up on the grilled cheese/tomato soup reference.

SoCo and Lime is good. I also recommend SoCo and Cherry Coke. Good shit.

Damn I want a beer right now! I might have to leave work early today (I normally leave at 3:30, but that's not early enough).

Good question. I won't drink Coors Light or Bud Light, they both taste like water to me. Some people use those beers to get wasted; for getting bombed on the (relatively) cheap tip, I'll go with Miller Lite if I'm drinking on a full stomach. But the ultimate beer for getting bombed is PBR.

Others I don't like: MGD, Miller High Life, Bud Select, Michelob, Michelob Ultra, Michelob Light. I don't really like regular Bud, though I'll drink it in a pinch.

I shy away from Guiness and Heineken only because they're way overrated and way too trendy IMO. Heineken seems like the beer people order when they want to come across to girls as classy. As for Guiness, I like it, but it sits kinda heavy in my belly and I don't quite get the craze. The taste of both these beers is solid, but I'm not really into them like a lot of people are. So I stay away.

Re: Let's talk beer

In general, I'm not a fan of mass-produced macrobrews. The Millers, the Buds, and the Coors of the world. It's not like I have it out for Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing, or Coors at all, it's just funny how my taste buds don't dig them.

But hey, beer is beer. Every brand has a place in the world!

I don't know that I have enough drinking expierence to have a favorite.

I drink MGD a lot, so I guess that counts.

Re: Let's talk beer

I'm not a fan of Miller Light, Michelob, Miller High Life, The Beast, Keystone, Rolling Rock, and a bunch of others that I can't think of right now. Last weekend I went to the O's/Nats game, we were hanging out at Sliders before the game and they had Natty Boh (Natural Bohemian for those not in the know) for like $2, so I drank a few of those and they weren't as bad as I expected.

For tailgates I always have a 40 of either Old English or Steel Reserve even though I hate it. It's gross enough as it, but if that crap gets warm it tastes like horse piss (I imagine that's what horse piss would taste like, I wouldn't know though b/c I've never been that thristy).

Re: Let's talk beer

Corona Light. I don't know if anyone recalls last week I mentioned that my wife bought a case of it for a cookout and noone drank it. So I had to suffer and drink it. Well, this past Monday she had a Pampered Chef party an wouldn't you know it, she bought another case of Corona Light! Once again, noone drank it and, once again, I get to go home after a hard days work to enjoy that swill. Sorry guys but that's not beer. It's like drinking Sam's Choice Dr. Thunder instead of Dr. Pepper.

Re: Let's talk beer

classic! Dr Thunder is straight ghetto. We used to get stuff in college called Limon-Aide which was just ghetto Sprite.

Corona light is like any liquor that comes in a plastic jug.

Re: Let's talk beer

oh man, i totally forgot about IT cola. i used to drink that stuff because moms wouldn't buy anything else. a case of it sat in our fridge for a month...moms stopped buying it.

i've grown rather fond of the champagne of beers. if i'm going cheap one night, i'll pick up a 12, or they're 2 bucks at Fish Tales in OC. Natty Boh isn't terrible, but it certainly isn't great either. And I live and die by PBR.

good way to cure the nastiness of Corona Light...drop in a shot of tequila and lime. gives it some decent flavor.

one soco and lime is fine. 4 or 5 after a bunch of different drinks, and i leave some puke in a parking garage in Annapolis.
