Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
superbad is super awesome seriously. GO watch it. I mean, it is so close to be a great 'classic' comedy. For some reason it was missing just a little bit of something that i can't pinpoint. I'm just being overly critical though. It was hilarious. F....ing hilarious. Great story with wierd funny shit happening. I can't say more about it.
It is a toss up between this and knocked up. They both are so good. I can't pick one. Knocked up probably had a better story so i'll give it to that. However, this is such a classic high school senior wants to get laid movie. One thing it wa smissing was a scene that was really really really funny. Like one that is extended. The movie had a bunch of one punchers. But the movie did have moments where everything came together. Next week i go back to school and i'm going to go watch it again with some people. |

Took the wife to see I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry last week. It was decent, definitely had its moments. I'd compare it to Big Daddy in terms of the kind of movie it is.

I don't really care. Its a movie. It meant good by preaching equality but it is still a comedy so there are going to be those gay stereotypes thrown around. Funny funny funny movie if you take it for what it is, a movie. |

I dunno why people wanna take movies and then bitch about em when it's usually purely for entertainment value. I heard people got their knickers in a twist over the movie, Dogma. Hence the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie. But then again, I didn't really like Dogma. I mean it had it's moments but... I'll stick with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in all of it's awesomeness.

War sucked pretty hard except for a couple fight scenes but the main fight scene went to see between Statham and Li lasted like 30 seconds and had one of the biggest piece of crap endings.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
don't waste money on Halloween. The first half of the film was a bit creepy as it focused on Michael's childhood, but the second half was your run of the mill cliche horror film and I personally don't think it added much to the original. I actually got so bored, I was ready to leave with about 20-30 mintues left in the movie. and some of my friends let me know Balls of Fury was eh, but in no way compares to Superbad.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I'm in a horrible mood today because I found out that I didn't get a job that I really wanted, which sucks for a number of reasons that I'm still too pissed to discuss at this time. Prior to finding out this horrible news I had made plans to see Superbad tonight, and even though I felt that I wasn't in the mood for a comedy, let alone leaving the house in general, I'm very glad I did.
Superbad was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen in the theater. I laughed my F'ing ass off from start to finish! The scene where Even (I think) was singing with the group of coke fiends was insta-classic. Likewise, MacLuvin will be the most overused, yet still funny, nickname since Steve-O, which is what I call my own father. The movie is not for everyone, 2 out of the 4 other people I went with didn't like the movie. They thought it was too long and pointless, because they don't know funny (they're anti-TBS). Also, I wouldn't take grandma to see it, unless she'd be willing to buy you liquor. However, if you're a fun-loving d-bag like myself I suggest you grab some friends and go see this thing ASAP! Regardless of the fact that I'm still so pissed about the job thing that I want to take a baseball bat to a room full of Ming vases just to let out 1/10th of my anger over this job thing, I still laughed my ass off and managed to have a good time for a few hours.

I just wanted everyone to know they NEED to go out and get the movie Hot Rod if you haven't seen it yet...
I laughed my ass off at this movie... I'm going to watch it again tonight with the old ball and chain, once I get her ass off of COD4...

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Anyone see the previews for this new Will Smith movie, "I am legend"?
I'm thinking it will be pretty good. Despite the worn out theme, I think I'm going to see this one when it comes out.
