Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Not a chance.
I could see Crawford going to PS with Robinson opening the season as our returner, unless Banks somehow makes the team. I'd also like to see Banks get a shot to keep his job this preseason with someone other than Grossman throwing to him. Bad Rex was definitely showed up against the Bills...he couldn't get the ball anywhere close to his receivers. I like that we were going to Banks to test him at WR and see what he could do, but he didn't have much of a chance with Rex's lame duck passes.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Competition has proved to be very effective on this team. There will be some tough cuts and a guy or two will likely land with another team. That being said, it seems like more than ever players want to be a part of this organization.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
well, if someone else can play C, they'd cut cook instead, but they aren't keeping 10+ OL and mcrib was picked in the 3rd round, but he wouldn't have been a 3rd round pick for 95% of teams.

Cook isn't making it over Josh L, who by the way has been learning center.
Some other team would sign him off the PS in a second. |

The Rib's versatility will carve him a spot.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
I'm so on the fence regarding Banks .. one day I know he won't make it then the next I think well he has a shot and is so sick at returns .. if he could somehow grow (no pun intended) into the role of a WR it could be such a weapon .. my gut tells me he makes the team but it's tough and I think it will push AA out of town.

If he's used correctly, I think he could be an asset. I'm thinking Option-type scenarios. But as a receiver, he's just far too small. He can't escape if a defender gets a finger on him.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Everyone loves Rudy, I mean Banks, because he is an underdog. He has value, but we aren't a deep enough team for him to be just a return specialist. Robinson and Crawford can both return and have added depth value.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Sorry but Banks is a waste of a spot. Would have been a keeper in the tradition of BMitchell or the "X Factor" but since they vOted to move the kickoff line up- every kick goes out of bounds and he's only 5'7" 150lbs. Watching him as a WR is just too painful. Cut him now, it's too late for him to Play with the big boys and give Briscoe and Aldrick a chance to compete. Personally I'd rather get Paul reps than watch a midget like Banks flop all over the field.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Give me Robinson and Briscoe at the bottom of our WR corp.. Banks is fast, no doubt but his effectiveness is surely stunted by the new kickoff rules and there's no way he's able to be an NFL WR. I think Briscoe is key because he's got the size and hands to backup Hankerson at the 'big' WR spot.

We could use Briscoe's size for sure.
How about our whatever and goal package as Davis, Paul (or Cooley), Briscoe, Hankerson, and Morris. Seems like it could do some damage. |

I think RG3 version 1.0 should be cut, I just can't see it happening. Apparently I am not alone. |

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
I really thought Cousins, despite being a rookie and throwing a pick, looked dramatically better than Grossman against the Bills. He did get into the game in the 2nd quarter, so it was still a decent Buffalo D on the field.
Grossman just looked like utter garbage. The "veteran leader" QB should not come into the game and complete 20% of his passes. Most of his throws were nowhere near the receivers. The only thing missing was a sack-fumble. No matter who comes in if RGIII is injured, it's going to be a huge drop-off. For the sake of our future, we should get Cousins some experience. We know what Rex can do...turn the ball over. Crompton is a more than competent 3rd-string QB.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
unfortunately, with cousins throwing like 3-4 picks a day in practice, the idea of ditching rex isn't going to get very far. I'd like to as well, but cousins hasn't played well enough to make that happen. we've definitely got an extra RB or LB (or gomes) that could use that spot though.
