Re: Super Happy Fun Thread!

that has been my problem this summer. I am up all night and no one is online posting anything so when i wake up threads have progressed so far it is impossible to jump back in. I don't know where the gtripp thread went to.

first time i saw them was at my wife's college, sitting in a lawn chair, putting away 2/3rds of a 30 pack. saw Carbon Leaf, Virginia Coalition and Jah Works that weekend as well.

wow...and i got SHFT's 1000 post. What an honor!
They should definately play a mix. Everyone there went crazy when they played poker. I hate a lot of the new stuff. I guess they understand that the people that actually come out to see them like the older stuff. They have decided to be a top 50 band forever with this new stuff though. Atleast they are making more money this way.

Great thread. But I think I speak for everyone when I say I sure hope there's no need for a Super Happy Fun Thread Part II this season

Re: Super Happy Fun Thread!

I saw OAR last summer for the first time (which is odd because I've liked them since I was freshman in college back in 2000) and I really thought they were bad. Their set list was not put together well, they played some of their most popular songs right in the middle of the set and ended with newer/slower songs. And I feel like they played a few songs then left the stage for about 10 minutes then came back and played some more, then left, then came back, so that was weird.
I had fun because I was with a ton of friends, but it was pretty disappointing overall. Oh yeah, and the sound quality at Merriweather sucked balls from the lawn seats.

As I mentioned to Gmanc after his acquittal for going because he went with chicks, OAR probably encourages popped collars, pink shirts and those multi-colored shorts with whales on them. OAR and DMB both made me sad in college.

Re: Super Happy Fun Thread!

I went with a friend from here and a friend i haven't seen in 5 years because he was in DC. Back on the lawn too. They left the stage saturday too and then came back and i think they said this is our last song and then were like, its maryland we will stay. I think everyone agrees that their new songs suck. SOon they will suck. AGain, they are making more money this way so its not like they will stop.

Taf i don't think we will need a shft next year. Maybe we'll need a Super unhappy unfun thread due to all the wins we have.

Re: Super Happy Fun Thread!

I like both bands, but the only time I have ever popped my collar was when I did it as a joke. I did work at American Eagle for two years back in college, but that was only to get discounts on jeans and the most basic of shirts. Plus, the assistant manager had a HUGE rack, so there was that.

Wait, I just remembered, I may have popped the collar back in '87.

I second that. I was just reading why I created it in the first place and damn, those were some bad moments. Re-reading it has been quite hilarious though. I plan on putting up lots of stories and pics of TO bitching this year. Something tells me the Cowboys are going to tank this year. I'm talking like 6-10.

I like DMB too and have yet to pop my collar or like anyone that does. I too only have done it as a joke. Besides, no collars on redskin jerseys.

I also have to remember that everytime I see someone with their collar popped. Instantly I label them as douchebags, but then again, you can TELL who is doing it for fun and who isn't. The thing that pisses me off the most is when I see parents doing it. I want to stab them with a broadsword or shoot them with a crossbow.
