Exactly. I'm saying we do not need him as a real QB. If RG3 goes down, our first franchise QB in 20 years, maybe since Theismann if you don't consider Rypien a franchise QB...the season is over anyway. We won't have a replacement QB that can play at his level. I'd rather lose having fun with Tebow than suffer through Rex again.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Plus Tebow is a HUGE distraction that our rookie QB, who's facing enough pressure as is, doesn't need. And when I say huge distraction I don't mean like Tebow going out of his way to get in front of the cameras but he does draw media attention like moths to a flame.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I can think of quite a few QB's - Henne, Orton, Hasselbeck (if Tenn. signs Manning) who would make a better #2 than Tebow.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Maybe it would take away from the distractions for RG3...the cameras would be following Tebow and leaving RG3 alone, or at least giving him smaller mobs.
RG3 is going to have a media circus...if a tiny market like Charlotte can create a giant media storm around Cam Newton, just wait until the nation's capital has a QB just as talented, if not more talented. DC has been starving for a QB like Griffin. I hope he adjusts to the attention quickly, because even with winning the Heisman Trophy, he hasn't seen anything yet,

Definitely not denying that. Just throwing out there, I'd be fine with Tebow...and it could be fun to watch him and RG3 on the field together. Hey, it's the offseason on the Warpath. Sanity is on vacation.

Tebow will bring his mania anywhere he goes. I think we'll have our hands full as it is with RG3 mania. Except our guy can throw!

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
It is compared to DC. And especially Atlanta, as we are one of the Big 3 for corporate headquarters (New York, Dallas, ATL) WHAT UP?!!?!
See people think the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry is about football and that it started from a song. No sir, it's about corporations getting riled up about big government and vice versa.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
The Peyton Manning visiting tour apparently is headed to Tennessee according to Michael Lombardi (through Twitter).

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Everything is bigger than DC. The real question is how do the surrounding areas stack up for the respective cities? When you throw in Montgomery County-Maryland, Prince George’s County-Maryland, Fairfax County-Virginia, Arlington County-Virginia, and Loudoun County-Virginia.
Montgomery and PG County combined have a greater population then Charlotte as does Fairfax County alone. It's not the city itself, it's the surrounding area. Granted no one should have said Charlotte is small, but by the same token it's not bigger then DC as a whole. Quote:
