The thing that I was getting at was that if Beck got more help from his receivers, he might have led us all the way back. But it's a moot point. Because if Grossman had gotten more help from his receivers, he wouldn't have thrown four picks and gotten benched.

Not to absolve Grossman from being a turnover machine, but I cant fault Rex for playing timid or lacking desire. If we're going to be a pass first, second, and third offense, you need a more consistent effort downfield.

Here's the truth, we beat bad teams and lose to good ones, we sometimes beat ourselves...that is NOT a playoff team, especially one with the most critical position being manned by a question mark.
It's not as bad as Spurrier's Danny Wuerful man-crush, but it is eerily similar.
2 arrogant offensive minded coaches thinking they can take a QB that no one else wants and turn them into stars.

This game reveals too much Shanny influence over the FO, not getting a good QB. It also reflects the FO not addressing Oline depth as much as we all shouted for...no backup Guard?....reallly?
Those were the 2 big questions I had with the squad going into the season.

I am glad Grossman was pulled, but I don't expect much better from Beck.
I do think that the coaches need to get austin and the other WR's out there too.
Totally agree with you dude on your analysis, but talent wise I still say we are capable of a Wildcard if things are tweaked or situations are avoided, like going man on man coverage with a defensive backfield that isn't the best, or the worst in the NFL. A decent overall gameplan that makes strategic sense also would help.

But but, his starting record is the the only stat that matters. lol. John Beck is 0-1 this year as a QB, Rex is 3-2, ergo Rex > John.

You're forgetting overlap. Technically my final edit said Beck is 0-1 "as a QB" not "as a starter." My argument about W-L is impenetrable. Plus Beck hasn't played in a regular season game since 2011.

Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington

The redskins got outcoached in the first half and grossman played terribly. The scored should have been 20-14 after the redskins 1st possession after the half because of those reasons I just stated.

But even though the redskins have improved from last year mainly because of the defensive upgrades and offensive line play being more solid and consistent - they are missing an offensive player that can make the plays when the team is down or when they need to put the other team away. The other teams that were able to beat the eagles - had one or more players like that, that's the reason that they were able to come back. And why the redskins couldn't when they had similar opportunities too. I was hoping that torrain would become that player but now it may be Beck's opportunity to step up.

The best part is we finally confirmed that Vick is human and the Eagles are in fact beatable.

I thought that was confirmed their first 5 games when Vick was getting dogged (bahaha, pun) and throwing INTs all game.

I just needed to see it against us and our defense.

Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington

I'm already pumped for Sunday and want to see what Beck can do. He looked good in my eyes this game or did some things iv'e not seen from a QB in the Redskins for a while.

The problem with many of us as fans is we have unrealistic expectations of this team. We have a team with a lot of young studs and stop gap players in key positions. This is not a 12 or 9 win team right now. I think we could luck up and win 9 games but I don't see us being able to do it year in and year out. Until we address the qb position we will continue to struggle with teams who have a good passing game. We need a guy who can go out and compete with guys like Rogers, Rivers, Brees, etc.

It was a joke. I was mocking the people from two weeks ago who mocked me for suggesting that John Beck would be worth giving a look at QB. I was purposely making a "how to lie with statistics" argument/joke.

And to further add I said Beck is 0-1 as a QB this year which in joking form I meant more specifically that we are 0-1 in games where Beck has played. Which again is a "how to lie/win with statistics" joke.
