Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
At least they are meeting needs here. It's hit or miss here, no doubt, but the position is a need.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Justin Tryon
Strengths: Very athletic...Great speed with a burst to close...Fluid and can flip his hips to turn and run...Can hold his own in man-to-man...Very physical...Feisty & Aggressive...A solid tackler...Gives a good effort in run support...Has experience as a return man. Weaknesses: Does not have the size that you look for...Marginal instincts and awareness...Can be too aggressive at times...Struggles to match up with big wideouts...Is not very strong...Does not have great hands...Limited upside...Two years of DI experience. Notes: As a prep he was a track All-American...JUCO transfer from College of the Canyons where he was an All-American and won a national championship...He profiles as a nickel / dime type in the NFL but could excel in that role while also contributing on special teams..Underrated prospect who could be a late round steal for someone.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
So that whole getting an immediate starter at DE ain't happening now. I really hope we can find someone in the next round who can help out our d-line. Overall it's not a bad pick because CB is somewhat of a need.

I don't know anything about Tryon, but for what the Redskins need, this is an excellent place to grab a corner.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Yeah I definitely think we could have got him in later rounds. Seems like a pretty big reach to me when IMO there were better defensive players on the board like Erin Henderson, Josh Barrett, Orlando Scandrick, Geno Hayes, DeMario Pressley.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Great. We reach for a guy who was a projected 7th rounder at CB, draft 3 pass catchers with our first 3 picks, and still haven't sniffed D-line or O-line which our the two biggest needs. Not building in the trenches... This is a bad draft so far for us.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Yeah that idea is done, I hope they trade for someone! I still wish they would have tried to get Fabian Washington, instead of a unknown 4th rounder.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Maybe they are giving Wilson a chance? I still would like for them add a DE for depth.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I wouldn't go so far as to say this was a bad draft. We addressed the need of a bigger presence at receiver and we have added a G to our roster. CB depth is helpful we just reached way too far.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Im now focusing all my attention to the Wizards...the rest of these picks are long shots and most likely won't be on the final roster
