Get Forbes out of the slot. Can we just have 1 guy that is really good at his position. Rivera wants the damn longsnapper to have position flexibility.

Put Forbes at the boundary corner and then LEAVE HIM BE.

Nothing wrong with giving him some looks in the slot. If he's shadowing a WR and that WR moves inside, Forbes will have to go too. Of if there's an injury to someone he might have to move.

CB1 is never going to play the slot if there is an injury. Anyone but Forbes should be moved inside if absolutely necessary.

Have we ever shadowed a WR before? Doesn't sound familiar.

I mean, it's just offseason, so it's not a big deal now. But I'd like for him to be planted on the outside.

Ron Rivera be like...but can you farm???

RIP to one of the GOATs.

We're already calling him CB1?

Anyway, it's not as if they are locking him in at the slot, they're just giving him some reps there.

It's kinda funny how your posts contradicted each other. You said Forbes is our #1 CB and want Forbes to be only boundary CB and then you want our #1 CB to travel with #1 WR. Nowadays, it's pretty common for offense coordinators to move around #1 WR, including motioning the WR to the slot position. Therefore, our #1 CB must learn how to play both sides and slot positions. In other words, Rivera is doing what you want.

I do get the frustration feeling about Rivera's obsession with flexibility, I feel that way sometimes. Although with the DBs, it's important to be flexible with positions because some offense coordinators are always looking to exploit our defense weaknesses. We can mitigate this challenge by confusing QB on who is covering his #1 target, or this would make things easier for our defense when the #1 WR is motioned to a different position before the snap by transferring the coverage responsibility to other DB without running over to a different side.

I don't know about CB-1, but honestly he better be CB-Starter. I don't care where - outside, boundary, inside, slot...whatever. He better be good enough to take someone's job. (Psst, I'm looking at you Benjamin...with your 13 missed games in the last two years...)

No, I don't want him to. I want him to become a dominant boundary corner. You have one of those and you can make the offense work a lot harder to put up points.

I was seriously asking if we have ever done that before. Or at least recently. I don't remember it. Not sure if it's a feature or just never having a dominant CB1 to try it. But I don't recall us doing that.

If we drafted a WR or a DL at No. 16, maybe I wouldn't expect him to be the No. 1 guy. I like Juste but he's always hurt and Fuller is solid but unspectacular. I don't believe Forbes was the pick if they didn't think he'd come in and be their best guy at that position.

Dude can play anywhere he is needed. I think that was what we liked about him so much. When BSJ gets injured in game 2 we can rotate him.

Honestly, if St Juste were to stay healthy (BIG IF), it should be Forbes & St Juste on the outside and Fuller in the slot. Who is the "CB-1"? Don't care really. They will all have their moments...

I like Juste. He's talented and seems like a good dude. I'm pulling for him. Would be awesome for himself and us for him to play double digit games, hopefully closer to 17 than 10. Based on having real NFL experience, maybe he would be better than Forbes. Haven't seen the availability yet tho to be a possibility.

I just personally think Forbes will be our best CB Week 1.
