I meant not great in that he has an average ranking among starters (PFF ranks him 14 at center). My point is we can't target the best at every position, so the signing was a good one (heck maybe even great one), as he is most definitely a massive upgrade.

Best FA acquisition for the Skins in years given the price. He was the #1 rated middle LB available in free agency in almost all the lists I've seen.

Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal reported Monday that the Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams believed to be interested in Onwenu."

I hope we can get this deal done. Owenu could lock down our RT position for years to come. He's 26 years old. Can play either OG position as well.
Re-signed with the Pats 3yrs $57M.

I wanted us to go after him. If not the answer at LT, he could have at least anchored the right side with Cosmi. And he's young. :|

Got to think we're looking at one of the remaining T's because there's no guarantee we'll get a starting T in the draft.

Damn was one of my top 3 targets I wanted for the Skins (Got one in Luvu). Hunter is still out there and we still need an edge rusher.

Depth isn't too good at OT in free agency though. Smith for 1 year???

I would look at Smith. Guess it hinges on a medical. If he looks strong enough to last a year, we could draft a RT with a view to moving them to LT if they look good. Or keeps options open for '25 draft at least.

With $100M guaranteed on his 4 year, $180M contract with the #Falcons, Kirk Cousins has now ensured over $330M in career earnings.

Kirk Cousins' bank account is elite.
Dude has been able to fleece two teams into paying him elite money while mediocre play and only in the regular season.

That is just sour grapes. His play has been elite, just not successful in getting to the Superbowl (wouldn't be the 1st and probably not the last elite QB in that boat).

I'd say above average, not elite, and I love to see kirk succeed.

Cousins' stats are elite and that's what has gotten him paid. But I don't think you can be considered an elite QB with a 1-4 career playoff record.

That said, I think this is best chance to go all the way with Atlanta. They have an offensively loaded team. I don't know how good is their defense, but I'm sure Raheem Morris will make them good if they are not.

Cousins game has improved, you don't see as many of the glaring errors that marred his time in DC. But he is coming off an ACL, and I don't think you can assume he will come back at the same level. It is quite a gamble for Atlanta.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start

solid signings so far, ekeler being maybe the only borderline one (since RBs age in dog years). If he hasn't lost a step, he'd be an upgrade on the gibson spot (6td/5fumbles last year though).
