I'll post grades from this game later
I didnt get to see game so I dont like reading this from their observations, looks like what saved us is going up big early to take Johnson out of the game,at least that would be my take from what their saying.

"David Johnson picked up where he left off from his 2016 campaign. He could have put up a huge game if he was given a heavier workload on the ground. The offensive line was opening up holes, and Johnson found them with ease at times. "

Haha yeah he would have been through the roof! I'm telling you, with 20 more snaps we would have been SB contender!

Seriously though, you were 100% right, preseason means way less than we tend to believe in the moment. But after months without football, and with Jay's tendency to come out unprepared week 1, I was, and don't think I was alone, getting a little anxious!

Of course it helped that we had a big lead and were able to play keep away with TOP, but 6 of his 9 carries went for 2 yards or less. I definitely wouldn't say he was finding holes with any ease. He was definitely bottled up.

Wish I could link directly to the gif in this tweet. It's f'ing awesome. It has the offensive line running 15 - 20 yards downfield just crushing Cardinal defenders. I watched it at least ten times b/c it is so f'ing good.

Yeah, he had 2 good carries on their 1st drive and that was about it. That article is just trying to make Cardinals fans feel a bit better about getting whipped.

How about that, we physically whipped a team? So nice to see.

According to PFF we were one of the best teams rushing the passer on Sunday. Mainly because ARI ran a bunch of 3 step drops which makes it difficult to gain a real rush.

Also, D-Hall said it best before the game. Why pay a WR millions of dollars to match up vs another DB who makes million? When you can have a RB/TE combo that makes nightmarish match ups to LB/S. Doctson was never going to beat Peterson.

Yeah, if you have a G like that you can pick him wherever you want. That big hoss was Scott's best gift to us. Beast!! That dude was retreating like an alien ship was coming after him.

I agree with you. That's why I didn't think there was a big drop off between Kirk and Alex. I think Alex is better under pressure than Kirk is anyways.

PFF is right. And it was our pass rush that caused the Cardinals to choose to run nothing but three step drops.

Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)

I know the Cards are neither the Pats nor the Rams... But I'd like to temper this "it's only the Cards" thing a little bit:

-Last year this Arizona team had the 6th best overall defense and the 6th best run defense

-David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald (27), Chandler Jones (28), Deone Bucannon and Patrick Peterson (23) are still on this team...
They're not the 2016 Browns: they have 3 players on the top 100 list on their roster, we have one (TW) ... (I know, this list's a joke, but you get my point).

Glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking this.......they may be one of the better defences we will face this year, certainly better than the Colts, which makes the first half offensive performance all the more impressive
