Most of that value is in the real estate when the Skins were sold by the Cooks, the stadium and area plus the practice facilities.

Not to mention last year at 4-3 w/the lions on schedule this team looked at least headed to enter the late part of season w/playoff possibilities.

In two of the last three seasons, this team has been off to a "good" start, plagued by the same issues (mainly offense). I'd like to see a team that no longer has these issues, mainly on offense...however I think it is going to take a while for this to happen.

Would you really trade three Super Bowl championships in a decade for a lower franchise value on the Redskins? I doubt any Patriots' fans or Steelers' fans or Packers' fans would make that trade.

The only time I've enjoyed the net value thing is when my friends thought I was crazy for saying that the Redskins were among the 5 most valuable sport franchises world wide, and way even be in the top 2, to which they replied that there was NO WAY the Skins were more valuable then teams like Real, Barca, Chelsea, Bayren, Arsenel. As well as teams like the Yankees, Lakers, Red Sox, Patriots, etc. It was pretty shocking to considering that teams like Real Madrid had paid 100 million Euros just to acquire the rights to a player. Never mind paying them to play, just the right to sign them to a contract. A hollow victory if there ever was one.

The skins are a bottom feeder team and have been for years. I hate to say it but it's true folks. Yeah we have made the playoffs a couple times in the DS era but honestly it's been a nightmare as a skins fan.

I feel the Redskins are pretty bad (even though we are headed in the right direction), but I think the Bengals and Raiders are much worse off than we are. No way those teams should be ranked above us. Some other teams I feel should be below us. Pittsburgh Pirates Kansas City Royals Milwaukee Brewers LA Clippers NY Mets NY Knicks |

Even more troubling, perhaps, was the result of the ESPN fan survey, asking fans to rate on a scale of 1-5 how their commitment to their favorite team had changed in recent years. The Redskins finished tied with the Kings for 116th in that category. Amazing!!
