Off topic but..., what's the word on the kid Rob Henson. He was a beast in pre-season for us then got hurt. Is he still with the Skins?? I remember him tearing it up at the linebacker position.

It looks like Marcel Dareus will be the #1 pick. He's big and fast! Wow.

Von Miller's first run is 4.46.

I'd love it if he lasted until #10. Not gonna happen though.

For all the talk about what an athlete Cam Newton is, did anyone else see Gabbert's measurables? His 40, vertical leap, broad jump, and three cone drill were all nearly identical to Newton.

I said the same about Orakpo a few years ago, don't be surprised if he falls to us though, because who knows a lot of the teams in front of us could get DE's and DL and QBs then the next thing you know a team may like Akeem Ayers more than Miller or maybe a team grabs a guy who isn't projected to go until the 20's-- the Tyson Alaulau effect. And then theres the small chance we trade up to get him. Have faith though, he can still be a redskin, and if he isn't its fine, because I think he could easily be a bust, by being injury prone and run on a lot because of his lack of size.

Yeah, you could be right the more I think about it. Julio Jones is looking like a top 10 pick now, and you gotta think Buffalo and Arizona are candidates for Gabbert/Newton.

I guess if Dareus, Fairley, Patterson, Jones, Green, Gabbert, Newton, Bowers, Watt, and Amukumara all go top 9, we could land Von Miller. Who knows.

So I heard Cam followed up a poor showing throwing the ball, with super poor performance in the team interviews...

Check and mate. Exactly why I've been a proponent for going defense with #10. I guarantee you a #10 QB pick will end in disaster.

I've liked Jimmy Smith a lot, he reminds me of Ike Taylor of the steelers. Smith himself thinks he's the next Nnamdi but we'll have to wait on that one.

Re: The 2011 NFL Combine Discussion Thread

I think there should be a distinction between the Denver WCO w/ Mike Shanahan calling the plays and the Denver WCO (Houston variant) w/ Kyle Shanahan calling the plays.

E.g-

Mike has been close to a 50/50 pass/run ratio vs Kyle w/ a 60/40 pass/run ratio

Mike has had several different types of QBs at the helm most of whom have been mobile, some of which have had big time arms

Kyle has had a QB w/ average to below average mobility in Schaub/Grossman and average arm strength

Mike's offense features a lot of action passess (sprint, dash, bootleg, etc) well defined reads, often half-field reads which makes it easier for a QB to execute

Kyle's offense features more straight drop back passing with the emphasis on QB decision making
