Also lets keep in mind that Briggs is going be playing hurt this week, its an ankle so hopefully slows him in coverage against Cooley/Davis/any RB and we can exploit that during the game! If AH plays I would look for Orakpo to have a big game

Re: It's F-ing Bears Week!

I think the key for us will be sustaining drives more than causing turnovers and sacks (which I suspect we will do). But if we cannot do anything once we get the ball, we leave ourselves open to Forte trying to grind us down and keep our D on the field for a long time. To sustain drives, we need to get something going on the ground to set up the pass (esp. play action), and that will reuqire Torain to play with more discipline than last week. Against the Colts, he was solid, but tried too often to bounce outside the tackles and go for longer yardage, usually to the opposite effect. Had he stayed with his blockers, he likely would have been more effective. If he does that, I think we can keep the chains moving on offense.

An early lead will be key. We need to get out in front and force the Bears to throw. If we do, we could have a great day. If they do, they can pressure McNabb and try to grind us down with Forte, which has to me their strategy.

While no one should take the Bears lightly, we should win this game and I think we will. It would be nice to having a convincing win for a change, but I will take an ugly one at this point. I predict 22-16 Skins (we get a safety).

Not pathetic, a win's a win, I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss etc. We've all heard those phrases over and over again.

At some point, in order for us to be a complete team, we have to go into someone's house, play better than them in every facet, and win on a regular basis. We are not there yet and so there is always room for improvement.

Chicago is 4-2, has a stellar defense, and they also happen to have beaten the Packers. Can the Redskins win? Absolutely, I think we've proven that we can hang around with a lot of teams in the league. We have 3 wins in 6 games, 1 less than we had in 16 games last season.

But we have to improve our overall defense, the offensive line still has to gel, we are still looking to establish a consistent running game and we have yet to develop a very thin WR corp, arguably one of the worst in the league. So, while not pathetic, we have a ways to go before we are where we could be.

Re: It's F-ing Bears Week!

What excites me about this game, is this really will be the first week without any serious drama. (well Hall was drama but yeah well back to my thought). AH is at practice and playing nice apparently, the whole 1st team is at practice and working hard, Rocky was back. I am hoping we get a real solid win out of all this, and a long look at what this team's identity will be going into the second half of the season.

Us blowing them out would be great, but if this team just comes in and does a hard day's work and gets the W without any last minute heart attacks, I will be very happy.

It was only a matter of time before Hall blew up. Should have saw this coming. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't get beat all the time, but it feels like whenever I watch a game that he's getting beat by everyone, from number 1's to number 3's.

It all comes down to putting forth the effort and playing hard for 60 minutes. I don't believe anyone seriously expected the Redskins to beat the Colts. But, the Redskins had every opportunity and was very, very close in doing just that....AND...having to come back to do so! Something that Cris Collinsworth said usually doesn't happen against the Colts.

I say, as long as each player plays hard for 60 minutes, they're going to win more than they lose.

Buster's statement is clearly sarcasm.

Re: It's F-ing Bears Week!

I don't see how anyone could be very confident going into Soldier Field facing the #3 ranked rushing offense and 8th overall. The Bears O line might be bad, but ours isn't the greatest either. Mr. Urhlacher, meet Mr. Torain!!! Ouch!!!!!!!!! We get in Cutler's face often and produce a few turnovers as a result we can win, but if we don't, we will lose. Also, what are we going to do about Forte?

Re: It's F-ing Bears Week!

THe reason I can't be overly optimistic, is this is the type of game we tend to lose. THe games we all think we will win handily or not a nailbiter. Chicago has weapons, with no line, but like I said above our line isn't so great either, even though we also have weapons. It will be a hard fought game. Turnovers will determine the outcome.
