I just think Shanny has got a bug up his butt because he is trying to establish his Power ...and what way to do that better than to knock the big dog down...he's already essentially dumped the leader of the offense...he is doing the same with the biggest player on D. He doesn't need to be such a bully with Big Al...he's kinda quiet for a Dlineman. He's made his point, but we are a far better team with Big Al that without him...just look at our sack numbers year to year...not to mention how we got smoked on run D the prior year...especially against the Gmen on the edge against Carter. I say....Lay off...don't mess with Haynesworth...he deserves a chance to work out alone and prove he is a stud

Neither Shanahan nor Allen signed him to that contract.

Who do I side with "legally" or "Morally"?
Legally: AH does not have to be here. There is a reason it's called "voluntary" work outs. Morally: AH makes a ton of money. I'd love to see him take one year and have to work in some of our jobs making not even a fraction of what he earns and having to be at work Mon. through Fri. all year except for his vacation time. Let him tell his boss "no" and expect to keep his job. LOL. He might have a different oppinion on where he should be afterward. For 20 mill as a bonus I'd do almost whatever my boss said...."oh you want me to be the RB...Ok", then run everyone over like a freight train. You want me to clean the bathroom in the locker room.... it would be so clean you could eat off it. |

It is hard for me to forget Fatal Bert stomping on the head (twice) of the Dallas center. I was watching that game and I couln't believe my eyes. I pretty much figured it took two to tango but got way out of hand. As the years went by from that momment, Fatal Bert has done nothing to make me think that what he did that day was an isolated incident. Now we have his ill will blowing throughout our team. You may not chose to smell it but it's there.

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
Would it be any different if he just got paid a $21,000 bonus? What does money have to do with being a professional? I'd expect no more or less professionalism from the highest paid player than the 53rd highest paid player. Tying salary to leadership is always a foolish mistake. He should be there because of his teammates and his dedication to making the team the best they can be, not because he made more money than the GNP of most European countries.

I can see Shanny blowing out Fatal Bert because of his attitude and selfishness but at the same time, after paying him all of that "KASHE", wouldn't you rather see Shanny proceed in some other direction. To get some of his "KASHE" back?

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
There is not a coach in th NFL (imo) that can build a team of players that do not have the perfect attitude, physical talents or mental baggage. I will tell all of you that from time to time, my comments will seem absolutly insane. Are we a team here, no. Do we work together here, no. Still, we blog and try to get some type of enjoyment out of this site which primarily I believe we do. So my point to you is do not judge the players that may have a checkered past. I remember the last time I needed a second chance and man am I glad I got it. Would you be ?

Fatal Bert is only moronic to you. So it seems. Sorry, but it must continue.

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
The only problem is the lack of respect to the coach that wanted him there. He may have this reason or that reason for doing what he did but the coach asked him to be there. Like he did the rest of the team. What is that really saying? Do the math.

Albert seems like a dude who goes by the "fool me once, you'll never get me to do the same 'mistake' again". It's the only explanation why he isn't budging from his current regiment.

I hope Godzilla (in a B & G uniform) stomps on another Dallas defender. That would be earning a portion of that $21 MM. |

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
I also would hate to lose Haynesworth, mostly because we won't get equal value.
Yet I understand why Shan is ticked off at him. I am sure all the players received a nice welcoming letter when the new regime arrived. And said letter probably "requested" that all players attend "voluntary" camp in uniting players and coaches, and understanding new schemes. I am also thinking that Haynesworth may have pulled a "Jamarcus Russell", and didn't exactly appear to be in great shape when he meant with coach. Even if he is working out diligently, for $21M, he should have flown his trainer in and stayed in the DC area to at least do film work and attend meetings. |
