We also might trade our #4 also to get more picks and the likes of Lefevour or Snead will be possible.

Better backup situation in 5 yrs? Collins was phenomenal in 07 and honestly, he probably should have been the starter for both years under Saunders.

Personally, I think there is a better chance of Brennan being the #3 than JC staying.

Competition will be the deciding factor in determining the fate of QB's and every other position. There are elements that have to play themselves out after a complete evaluation of all the QB's currently on the roster, or any subsequent new additions.

With the current limbo status of Jason Campbell, it may be a while before there's a complete order established. Brennan and Grossman both will get their turns in the rotation to demonstrate their worth. May be too early to determine who will be # 2 & 3 if any of them.

Agreed, it obvious that Shanny and Jr want to see what Colt can do under their coaching or he would have been gone day one just like everyone else who didnt fit what they wanted to do with this team. Grossman is a Collins pt II move imo being the only reason he is here is because he has been in the system. NOONE else was beating down his door to sign him. Now that the Skins got McNabb, Rex is just as expendable as anyone else.

Im not sayin Collins is great but he did come in and play well enough to get this team to the playoffs.

Id say the whole team was on a mission the end of that season.......But, I see your point. He didn't stink it up like JC is what u r saying.

So does McNabb buy the number 5 from Colt or does Colt just take his number 15 now that Collins is gone?

I think he already gave it up to McDonovan.

I figured he already jumped at his #15 the minute Collins was cut.

Re: Can Colt Brennan beat Rex Grossman for number 2 spot

Did anyone ever think that part of the reason Colt seemed to decline was due to Zorns "over coaching"? Same for JC, he didnt really show much improvement imo under Zorny.
Not what i expected anyways after hearing how he was such a QB guru.

I never knew that he progressed enough to show a decline in the first place.

We are still talking about a 6th round, 3rd string quarterback with a slightly side armed release, and absolutely NO REAL GAME EXPERIENCE. And ppl want Tebow to change his delivery up. Imagine if we DO get Gaither. How many balls from Shorty brennan will be sidearmed into the back of his head?

Peoples facination with this guy really amazes the hell out of me. He sucks, and will be cut, but he might make a practice squad in Detroit or Seattle.....

Re: Can Colt Brennan beat Rex Grossman for number 2 spot

Shorty? Didnt one of the shortest QB's in the league just win the SB? Wasnt Flutie a good QB despite his height? QB's around the 6 foot mark make it to the pros because they can compensate their lack of height by being able to move in the pocket and make plays. Im not saying Brennan is Brees but dont use the height as your reason why a guy cant make it when clearly others have. Doesnt Favre have a bit of a a sidearm release? And he has just about every record there is so that can be thrown out as well. Brady fell to the later rounds so obviously he had some shortcomings coming out of college. Currently he is one of the best in the league. So you dont have to be the tallest, strongest or even the most accurate to be successful. But hey, maybe youre right and Colt will be cut and never heard from again, but as of right now he is still here so Shanny must see something in him to keep him around and give him a chance to make the team.If Shanny thought he "sucked" as bad as you say he would be gone by now. Im sure there are a dozen QB's out there who could come in and compete for the backup spot of that were the case. A guy like Garcia comes to mind.

Re: Can Colt Brennan beat Rex Grossman for number 2 spot

Collins certainly didn't suck...he was better than campbell...don't you guys remember santana moss saying : "I love JC, but TC is our QB, he is better"

And for the answer of this that answer is an emphatic no. How man games has CB started in the NFL? zero...grossman....a lot.

How many superbowls has CB started in???? . Grossman >>>>>1

Pretty easy No for me.
