I think he has and I think he might even be the starter going into opening day. Depending on who the rookie is and how he looks, I would expect that by the end of the season JC wont be the starter because Shanny will quickly become frustrated with his inaccuracy.

It's funny how Colt Brennan has become a complete afterthought. There were some on this board who saw him as the future. I still say that Jason should be #1 until someone outplays him in camp, assuming he doesn't sign elsewhere.

Yeah i dont understand the logic of completely ignoring Brennan.

I guess if there is a qb that Shanny is sold on and he has already dismissed Brennan. Just from the site it seems Brennan is already an afterthought.

You know I said something similar to my Brother yesterday. I told him I looked at Elway's career stats and they're not that impressive. And you what he told me? "Yeah, but what was his 4th Quarter stats when the game is on the line?"

At that point I had to concede.

Lol, maybe he had to play so well in the fourth quarter because he sucked for the first 3.

Shanahan has barely been here and there's not a lot of tape to look at on Colt; I wouldn't say he's dismissed him nor likes him. I think that it'll actually take until he gets to work with him that he or we know anything.

ESPN Insider, Adam Schefter reported this morning on the Mike and Mike show that Jason Campbell will remain with the Washington Redskins for the 2010 season. Word of advice for Redskin fans Schefter was Shanahan’s guy when he worked with the Denver Post and covered the Broncos so this is pretty solid info. Schefter went on to say that the Redskins will still draft a QB within the first two rounds which means they are not entirely set to draft a QB at the 4 spot. This will be great news for the Redskins fans that want offensive linemen to be the focus of the draft. I believe it means that the Redskins are keeping their options open. That is a good thing.

Sounds like Jason's definitely here for another year. I wouldn't mind going all offensive line, but I suppose people are still talking about Bradford or Clausen..

Re: Campbell will compete with a rookie next yr.

Forget McCoy. Use the first two rounds for the line. Round 3 you have a decent shot and Lefevour, Stull, Pike, Kafka, Sheehan, and Canfield. That isn't even the complete list of the really nice crop of Qbs coming out this year. With the exception of Manning and Aikmen, and McNabb in say the past 15-20 years, how many of the hot QB prospects have worked out? Favre didn't receive the adulation from the CFB media as Tebow or McCoy have, neither did Brees or Rivers. All 3(Favre, Rivers, Brees) were highly regarded, but did not receive the huge hype like Leinart or Harrington, Carr, etc. Even Jamarcus Russell was overhyped. These guys looked like superstars since they were on loaded teams. I want a guy that can make things happen if the talent isn't necessarily available or more to the point not stellar.

we dont have a 3rd round pick and Rivers was a high draft pick, so he was hyped up before the draft.

Re: Campbell will compete with a rookie next yr.

Why draft a QB when Manning and Brady will both be free agents after the 2010 season.

Re: Campbell will compete with a rookie next yr.

For what it's worth Jay Cutler started five games during his rookie year, though I must admit I don't know the circumstances surrounding those starts.
