Bad to worse...?

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.

We should be going hard after him...we have not had a franchise QB since 1982. And yes I think Cutler is one. I would go as high as two #1's to get him.

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.

I think he has the talent, but he seems to be a whiny little, thin-skinned crybaby...so no thanks.

DEFINITELY not for two #1 picks.

Just say no to tossing away draft picks. Cutler is a very talented young QB but we already have our own young and talented QB, let's continue to develop him.

Amen. Thin-skinned is right. Kind of like the way he refuses to meet with his new head coach. It's a tough business, Jay. This probably won't be the first time your name is floated in a trade rumor. Grow up. I equate his behavior to a little kid throwing a tantrum by stomping his feet and putting his fingers in his ears. He comes off like a jerk.

and yet we have won SB's without em. No we need our draft picks, not a QB that is going to cry when Zorn throws pads at him!

I don't think Cutler is mad about having his name floated around in trade rumors. He's mad that McDaniels isn't being straight with him about it. I'm not sure why the owner gave a 32 year old HC w/ no HC experience the power to shop Cutler. The guy's been there a few months and has pissed off your franchise QB and hired Mike Nolan to run your defense. Not a real good start.

You don't hear me defending McDaniels. Whether McDaniels was right or wrong, Cutler handled it poorly and publicly. I could see a diva WR or RB mouthing off, but QBs are supposed to be steady leaders. Handle it in house, not through media outlets.

Absolutely. If JC gets some protection and is not being hit before he finished dropping back to pass, he can be a great NFL QB. (Uhh...that Pittsburgh game was so tough to watch for this reason)

Campbell also has a cannon for an arm and can run far better than Cutler. He's also a harder worker, better team guy and is actually dedicated to his job, unlike what Cutler is portraying. He'll end up the better QB at the end of their careers.

Jeff George had a "big arm" too...that alone doesn't make a good QB.

I am not a JC hater...you will not find one thread in which I bashed him. I just think Cutler is an elite talent and when someone like Cutler at his age becomes available I think you should do whatever it takes to get him. I know we won in the past without great QB's but in this era the teams that win 10+ games year in and year out all seem to have a franchise QB. I hope JC becomes a franchise QB but I think Cutler has shown enough to say that he already is one. I want him...and I would pay a steep price to get him.

Understood, but I never said anything about you being a hater.

I think 2 first rounders is too steep.

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.

I know you didn't...but there is a lot of JC hating going around and I just wanted to make it clear that my interest in getting Cutler is more about what I think of Cutler then it is about just getting rid of JC.

It is steep but when it comes down to it I would pay that price and maybe even more. The Redskins have not had a franchise QB since 1981...and when it comes down to it what are a few draft picks worth when compared to 10 years of great QB play?

As much as I love Joe Theismann, he WAS NOT a franchise QB. I think the last truly great QB this town has seen was Sonny J.

I doubt Denver is that stupid to get rid of Cutler. If he and Josh McDaniels can't work it out I would fire JM before I trade Cutler. But let's say Denver asked us for JC and our number one pick for Cutler I'd make that deal in a second.

And we think Vinny is crazy?

Yikes.
