Great, great punt by Brooks before the half. Let's see more of that!

Also, anybody see why Zorn got on Brooks after the long FG miss? Looked like a pretty good placement by Brooks on TV.

Zorn was mad because Brooks messed up the timing of the kick by calling for the snap before the ref had put the ball in play, or something to that effect

Oh...that makes sense. It looked like Suisham had a false start before that kick...I was wondering what that was.

since two people both responded to something i never said, maybe i should clarify - frost sucks. he awesomely let a punt that hit him in the hands turn into a safety. it's like you're hanging five feet above the ground with a two foot stool below you and bitching about how you rather have the three foot stool that used to be there - you're screwed either way.

but i believe brooks will get better, and judging him by 2 punts versus the convenient memory of "good" frost without remembering sir shanks-a-lot is pretty silly.

that any more clear?

I heard this morning on the radio (cant remember what station or show) that Brooks might have made a some comment after Suisham miss, basically chastising him for missing it.

That's a stretch. Why would Brooks be upset with Suisham for missing a field goal?

Brooks had a good game punting the ball. Zorn was upset with Brooks because he called for the ball while the official was still over the ball before the ball was put into play.

Re: Durant Brooks Venting Thread

I heard on 980 this afternoon that Brooks said he was 'scared' and 'fearful' of Zorn when he chewed him out. Give me a fricking break. Man up and take your ass chewing.

"I was shell-shocked a little bit," Brooks said. "I thought he was going to throw his headphones on me. He scared me. He matured me, how about that."

What a pussy...

Re: Durant Brooks Venting Thread

what ever happened to backup QB's being holders? ie Theisman
They handle the ball every snap and shotgun snaps at that.

This would provide several benefits, one of them being the ability to jetison a crappy punter mid season if warranted

Not to mention having an option to do fakes...which would have been an option in this situation.

Re: Durant Brooks Venting Thread

Saw an interview with Zorn on Redskins Nation last night.

They showed the chew-session and asked Zorn what happened with it. He smiled and said "I asked Brooks a question. He answered it wrong."

Re: Durant Brooks Venting Thread

That's funny. I made out the words "never do that again you understand?". And then I made out "tomorrow!" At the end of it all when I re-watched the game yesterday. Assuming he's threatening to have his ass out of there or something.

How about some love for Durant Brooks? He punted the s*** out of it yesterday. Great hang time and distance. Too many others played well but Brooks had a good game.

He did a fine job. One lonnnnggg punt that really got us out of a hole at one point.

42+ net yardage on punts. Good punting, Good coverage.
