Re: Another D.Hall Thread.
Well yes...I figured that but since I've never even heard of it it makes me care little about their rating system.
You may as well worry about how Dan McKlurken rates him?

Looking at the cornerbacks I think Wilson and Hall will only give up TDs against elite receivers. But that's what makes those types (Fitz, Johnson etc) elite. You need an elite corner to cover an elite receiver.

Re: Another D.Hall Thread.
I think it will depend on the defensive coach's philosophy and our pass rush. If Kerrigan and Orakpo can get to the QB constantly, then that will disguise our poor secondary. However, if Haslett continues to be blitz happy and leave our mediocre secondary one-on-one with receivers...then we're going to have a problem.

I hear ya both. I do like raheem morris probably having some sort of control over hasletts blitz happy ways. I remember last year hearing about area 51 all over again, so ill wait to see how our safety play goes. I would agree it cant be worse though. Also i think alot of people like to point to the giants and the "in" thing to say this year is " hell if u can get to the qb than eff the secondary. Ive said it myself. Its just not that simple though. Elite wr's will burn a cb the same way elite qb's will burn a good rush with mobility and a quick release. Vick romo and eli happen to be pretty good qb's. Really hoping one or two of the young guys in our secondary surprise the hell out of us. Now that im done playing devils advocate i will play the eternal optimist. We were within inches in several games last year from winning and could have won eleven with sexy rexy and beck! the one thing i cant argue is "as a team" we have upgraded. So lets see if these guys cant win the close ones in the fourth quarter this year.

Re: Another D.Hall Thread.
How many INTs does Hall have to make this season to earn another contract here (your opinion and then if you think it's different for the FO)?
I phrase the question that way because Hall's tackling and burn factor are probably constants, but he could certainly come away with more picks lining up differently.

Its going to come down to strictly int's - but five would be a good measure and solid result. |

Re: Another D.Hall Thread.
He had 3 interceptions last year. If "the one thing he does is create turnovers" and all he has to show for it is 3 interceptions, it doesn't say much for his other skills.

I would agree with joeredskin. He happens to play a position where you are going to be the benefactor of a tipped ball or poorly thrown one. Troy Polamalu creates turnovers. Hall just happens to be there a couple times a year.
