Who the heck in their right mind would have let Spurrier pick players at this level? He was perfectly fine with the arrangement and the nice payday with minimum effort.

He's got nothing to be bitter over, he was a joke and he knew it.

Pretty much sums it up. I particularly like the way he's bailing on SC during the season. He's a quitter much like Bobby Petrino is. He's bailing because he isn't getting those top recruits like he used to back in Florida and can't compete in the SEC like the old days.

He has said this in interviews all the time..He is also surprisingly not bitter about his time here.
You decide to go on vacation and off the grid at the start of free agency and what right do you have to pick your players?

Honestly the real reason I was so adamant against hiring Spurious was because we already had a good coach who was only in his first year, here. One who understood there was more than one side of the football and had a radically different philosophy than The Ole Ball Dud.

Maybe if he was hired right after Turner was sacked and taking over his players then I wouldn't rue his name? He would've come into a team better suited for his supposed offensive wizardry. As it stands now the hiring of that arrogant buffoon stands as the highlight of Snyder's short sightedness.

My dad says that Steve Spurrier is sick right now, which is why he is quitting. Whether it be Cancer or something like that he isn't sure. Any truth to that you think or just speculation??

You can't pitch and catch in the NFC East and don't run the football.... this equates to a recipe for failure....

This finally explains to me why DS put his father's initials on the Skins jerseys after he died. I never understood how that could happen but now I understand that his father was a part owner so it makes sense.

Thanks for all the great insight and history lesson Smoot.
