In 2022 the Chiefs were 17-3 and won the Super Bowl with Wylie. Maybe last year says more about the Commanders than it does about Wylie. And Allegretti never gelled in KC as a starter, so we don’t really know how he might settle in here. In any event, he was stout in pass pro.

Yeah to compare how players performed on a Superbowl champion with Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes, with a bottom feeder with Ron Rivera and Sam Howell is a little bit silly.

I agree everyone on our roster should be improved under this staff. I would love to fast forward one more offseason though.

What's the "doh" all about? Don't act like I posted something stupid. How Wylie played here last season has nothing to do with how Allegretti might play here this season. I choose to be optimistic about him. Bearing in mind that the LG performance bar is set low by those who played LG here last season, we all should be glad to have him here competing for the job this season.

Agreed. Just because they played for the same team doesn’t mean anything. Wylie went from top of the world to the depths of hell as far as teams go. Allegretti has the luxury of a more competent situation when he arrived.

Sorry, the doh was for how Wylie played, not your post.

Having a coaching staff that is willing to run the ball, and a QB who doesn't hold onto it forever will help. I'm just concerned about potential injuries, because even if the current projected starting OL is better than we all think, we're an injury or two away from serious issues.

I suppose a lot of teams could say that though...

It all goes back to the trust issue. Do you trust AP or not? We might as well trust him since we have no recourse in the matter.

AP - high trust
DQ as HC - high trust
JW as DC - above avg trust
Def Staff - high trust
KK as OC -below avg trust
OL coach - 0% trust

the offensive coaching staff as a whole has alot to prove.

Larry Izzo as ST Coordinator - high trust (IMO)

Yes, offensive coaching staff doesn't begin to approach the quality of the defensive staff.

Anthony Lynn as RB Coach - above average trust (IMO)

I'm hoping AL will be a mentor to the other offensive position coaches and act as an advisor to KK.

I am really excited to see what Kingsbury brings. I mean if the guy runs the ball with a lead at least once we are already way ahead of last year.

I am also. He is really good with qbs and the passing game. Coaching up Mahomes is no joke at all and Caleb Williams. He strikes me as a guy that will be fun and have creative plays/formations that will still be effective. Obviously a passing oc but hope he stays with the run also.

Re: O-Line Rebuild - Adam Peters Style

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I think the defense will have to carry this team to victories this year.

While Kingsbury has had some success in CFB with some great QBs, his prowess in the NFL leaves a lot to be desired. In his 2019 season as the HC of the Cardinals, they finished 4th in the NFC West with a record of 5–10–1. In 2020, the Cardinals finished 3rd with a 8–8 record. They did finish 2nd in the NFC West in 2021, but lost to the Rams 34–11 in the first round of the playoffs. KK signed a six-year contract extension in 2022, but was fired after they went 4-13. As a HC he has a 28–37–1 record with one playoff appearance.

Granted, he's not the HC here. But he was just an offensive analyst at USC last year. It's not like he was the OC.

We'll see. Really, just run the damn ball and take the occasional shot downfield and it will be a better offense this year. We'll need a better than average D though to sniff the playoffs. I hope I'm surprised come Sep/Oct...

he gives me Spurrier vibes without the college record.

KK as the QB coach - cool. As the OC - I'm in wait and see mode (OL coach too). He doesn't have an amazing track record of offensive wizardry or anything.

Ugh hope not. I imagine he would care about success a lot more than Spurrier or Quinn would not have hired him. Spurrier was a disaster with the Fun n Gun and a classic bad hire by DS. Think KK and Daniels could be be bigtime with Daniels' talent.
