Re: What did you do at work today?

Took the day off since my co-worker took off 3 days last week, (we get 2 for holidays) leaving me solo the whole 3 days we had to work. I decided to stick him with rolling solo for today which I know is going to be busy. Jokes on him.

It's a no motivation Monday around my parts. Everyone is having a tough time coming off that holiday hangover.

Re: What did you do at work today?

My friend had a good point the other day. Some companies are going "lean" and having people work longer hours because it's necessary to stay afloat. Others are doing it because they love the savings and could easily afford more workers but would rather be cheap. What they don't realize is that this will bite them in the ass if the economy ever turns around and their top talent leaves in droves for companies that treat them the way they deserve to be treated.

Yeah, lean is code for "get rid of all redundancy, even that which is healthy/necessary." Seeing a lot of people burn themselves out trying to wear multiple hats.
