Disagree, if RG3 goes down our season is toast, no need to let Rex win us 2 games. Why not let the youngster play and learn on the job for possible trade bait down the road. Part of Cousins problem was he had to use Banks as a primary receiver, I think some of that was by design from the coaches to see if he can play WR. We shall see, 3 more games to play for Mr Cousins.

Rex has value as a short term starter. Obviously if RG3 goes down for the season, it might make more sense to start Cousins but I think it would also depend on where the team is at in the standings.

If RG3 goes down and we're in a playoff hunt then you can expect Grossman to be in there. If we're not then I don't want to see him. As for people saying Cousins isn't ready, what rookie QB is ready? He played throwing to a 5'6 150 wr. I'm sure if he's out there with Garcon and Hankerson and the 1st team line he looks a little better.

Another f-up by the refs. Not that I really care, considering it was a preseason game. If this is going to be an extended lockout they need to get their shit together though.

I hadn't seen the photo, I guess that might count a bad call too.

I hope Robinson shows well, in both the passing and return game. Coach seemed to make a point to have someone pull double duty.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame

Finally saw the game late last night.
Defense line played well. Even some of the backups looked strong. On the goal line stance the second unit Jarvis Jenkins and Co. looked stout.
#48 (R) Jordan Bernstein caught my eye on a couple plays run blitzing and filling the hole aggressively to help stop RB''s for no gain. They list him at 5'11" & 210. He looks bigger.
Same with Garcon, he really hit the weight room this off season. You can tell he is excited to play with Bob.

Lorenzo Alexander looks leaner and faster. We have a good and deep LB group.
Of course Kerrigan is the man. Starters looked great.
OLB 55 M. White got caught not keeping contain on the edge a few times. I like his size and physical play. He needs to play smarter and in control. Still waiting for Orakpo to step up to Kerrigan's level. Not knocking Orakpo, but he is a whisker away from reaching his potential.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame

So I've been listening to the radio lately and all the comments about RG3. Been hearing about how the OL did pretty well and kept RG3 clean. Hearing how, although the Bills DL is stout, they didn't blitz the QB.

The last comment is what kinda has me thinking. Do the coaches talk prior to the games? Do they make agreements in regards to specifics? Like maybe there was a gentlemans agreement or perhaps M.Shanahan requested the Bills not blitz during the first game so RG3 would get just a vinilla defensive scheme in order to utilize some of the skills he has been taught?

I know its common for teams to be vinilla right now cause they don't want to give anything away for the season, I also know teams will expierment with plays, but I wonder if RG3 already knew in advance that perhaps an agreement was made that they wouldn't blitz, and they wouldn't try to hit him, just give him a chance to get his feet wet and get the feel of a real game. So instead of the Bills working on getting to RG3 and confusing him they simply work on man to man with the OL giving the Skins an opportunity to see which OL handle their blocking properly.

Then the next game they can step up RG3's pressure a little and add more plays.

or am I thinking too much outside the box?

Re: Skins/Bills postgame

Vinilla eh? As far as a whole "gentleman's agreement" goes, I doubt it. The Bills weren't in the know when G.W. went with 10 guys the game after S.T. died, so I doubt they communicate too much. I think the Bills were just planning on going vanilla anyways, and obviously we didn't have a complaint with that.

It was the first preseason game. I think that's all you have to keep in mind regarding the lack of blitzes. Most teams keep it simple to start and ramp things up as the preseason goes on.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame

^No I agree with you guys and figured I'd get the ...."just enjoy the first game" comments.

I just remember a few yrs ago (or longer) when we would scrimmage other teams there were agreements between the clubs not to do certain stuff or maybe to do certain stuff cause the coaching staff wanted to see how their players would handle it. I was just wondering if perhaps the clubs still do these agreements with preseason games.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame

it's more common for scrimmages like the pats/saints thing they did this year, or the couple times the skins did a combined practice with the ravens.
