Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
Unpopular opinion incoming...
Our running backs are mediocre at best. The teams last RB with a 40+ yard run is Guice. Robinson does a good job of getting hard yards but doesn't really make anyone miss or go for big gains. I would sign one of the better backs to help the rookie QB out. |

I’m for added a new guy for sure but we need one with big play ability. I’d peak at the draft before spending FA dollars. If the Oline, scheme was set but we just needed more talent at rb coming into this year…then yes FA would make more sense. Either way the RB room was bottom 3rd of the league last year.

I don't think you'd get much argument that our RB room could be better. Everything's on the table; the team was BAAAAD last year.

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
Difficult to be a productive RB room when you are last in the league in rush attempts per game.

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
We are more than good at RB. Gibson has been used wrong since he's been here. You put Gibson in Kyle's offense and he'd have a lot more production.
We had an idiot at OC who doesn't know how to run the ball or use Gibson in space. EB was the worse OC I have seen since I have been a fan, which is a real long ass time. |

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
Not a stretch at all to say our RB room is probably overrated. BR isn’t explosive and Gibson despite his talent just doesn’t seem to play up to what his perceived potential is, and then there’s the fumbles. I’d like to see more of Rodriguez.

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
A guy on the radio made a great point regarding drafting Bowers. If he is taken high he is slotted to earn what that spot in the draft pays, if he's high enough that's the same figure as the franchise tag for TEs. To put so much cap money into a rookie tight end will be costly and that could cause him to drop in the draft.

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
What I hope we do right off the bat in the tampering period:
get a Center and a Mike LB . Get experienced guys who anchor both sides of the ball calling protections and calling defense plays Next, let’s get a pass rusher Let’s get these as priorities

I was thinking Miami's Center, but I didn't realize he got hurt at the end of the season. |

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
As far as running backs, I have my eye on Jaylen Wright, Bucky Irving, and Trey Benson.
Wright and Irving should be there in the 3rd round

Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
I see the sense in signing Wagner. Solid vet presence at MLB (something we haven't had since Fletcher) and hopefully a mentor to a rookie MLB and the other young LB's.
