Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
This is not news but it's the first I've heard about it. Goodell = The Grinch
New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas has been fined $12,500 for a uniform violation and a touchdown celebration in which he placed a bow on a football and gave it to a fan during the Saints' win over the Atlanta Falcons. Pierre Thomas was fined $12,500 for his Christmas-themed celebration Monday night. The fine for the celebration is $7,500. Thomas also violated NFL policies by wearing Christmas-themed green and red tape on his black and gold Saints uniform, and his fine for that is $5,000. The Saints players wearing the red and green tape were not only fined, but told at halftime by the league that if they did not remove it, they could not play the second half.

Wow that has to be a marketing thing. The NFL can't afford to offend other religions I guess.

Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
it's just a violation of uniform rules. all tape, wristbands, sleeves, shoes, etc. must be within the team's color scheme. that's all

Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
Yes, it does make sense as for uniform violations and the celebration rules (remember TO or Chad Johnson with the Sharpie?) but it's just a little funny...fined for celebrating Christmas.
I'd rather see teams wearing red and green for Christmas than a month of hot pink crap, even if it's for a good cause.

Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
some clarification:
"Four teams opted for all of the Elite 51 transformation elements except for the Flywire collar - Cowboys, Patriots, Texans and Steelers). Five teams opted out of the Elite 51 transformation and kept the existing jersey design - Raiders, Packers, Eagles, Falcons, Panthers. The remaining 23 teams opted for the full Elite 51 transformation." What's the difference between the Game, Limited and Elite NFL Jerseys?

probably smart that the cowboys invest in the flywire. A bunch of their players always seemed to bunch up and twist up their reebok jersey collars for some reason.

Looks like burgundy jerseys with white pants during warm ups.

I just got the white one in today. I actually like the fact the color is solid white. Overall pretty dang good for $30

they are out of stock for everything redskins Nike Store. Men's Washington Redskins Jerseys and i guess i am in the minority but i really dont like the new uni's that much. they collar just looks stupid to me. and the rubber ribbing that was over the chest plate of the jerseys last night looked pretty whack too. the collars look ok on some teams but overall not a fan, and i really cant stand the burgundy collar on the white jersey on our uni's. guess its a good thing i really dont rock jersey's anymore, although if we start keeping players more than 3 years i might eventually get a new one. the last one i bought was a taylor probowl, been a while.

Road unis are white tops, gold pants. Wonder which games will be throwbacks this year? I assume two home games. |

Back when we wore white jerseys at home all the time they always had that wrong too and would have the Skins in burgundy at home. |
