Let's talk good beer

Went to Asheville, NC for a wedding this weekend. On Friday we stopped in Harrisonburg, VA for some eats and grabbed a Pale Fire double IPA. I have to admit up until that point I have been less than impressed with VAs craft brews but that was a solid IPA. When we got to Asheville went straight for Greenman Brewing my wife had the IPA and I had the ESB (not a beer we get a lot of in Maryland and I love them) both really good. Had a Catawba Brown Bear Ale that was alright but not hoppy enough for me. Next we went to Wicked Weed tried a few of their IPAs the best we had was their Freak of Nature that my wife tried. The next day off to Hi-Wire that also was a really solid IPA. Unfortunately the wedding got in our way of more brewery touring.

Been wanting to go to Asheville. How was it? Must be a ton of good beer there huh?

A ton. Pisgah Brewing Pisgah brewery was probably my favorite.

i liked the breakfast stout, def one of the better stouts/porters i have had but i found the flavor profile to be really mellow. which is good. i liked it, i thought i was going to love it.

i did love kentucky bourbon barrel stout "alltech".

If anyone is ever in Santa Cruz California you have to go here n try the smoked porter. Probably the best beer i have ever had.

Yeah to piggyback on what Chico said there are over 60+ breweries in the area and several transplant breweries such as Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues and soon New Belgium. The people are fun, music is great and just as good as the beer imo.

Literally brewed on Monday, hit shelves starting Tuesday. One of the big MD Distributors had pictures on Instagram of them delivering it on Tuesday. From the guys I know who've had it, say it's on point. My buddy dropped off his son for my wife to watch this morning because they were in a bind, so he left me 2 of those and a Boulevard/Cigar City Collaboration No. 5 – Tropical Pale Ale. Sculpin is the bomb. Only had the OG, haven't had their favors. A local MD brewery did their take on it call Nanticoke Nectar. Even did grapefruit and habanero versions as well. I haven't had Westbrook's IPA but their Gose is nice and tart. I have another friend who's daughter goes to school in SC. I'll have to have him bring me some, since they only distribute in SC, NC, GA, AL, and NY.

Picked up 18 of the Born Yesterday today. It is awesome.

I was mistaken. Looks like its hitting the shelves today and tomorrow. Bottled on 10/26. I know for sure K-1 in Arlington has it.
