No way I’d move a young quarterback that’s shown a lot of advanced passing skills like Sam has done in his first year of starting. While I’m good with GM making a call on drafting another QB, in same breath I’m not moving Sam. That would be really dumb.

Like it or not, Sam has played too damn well just to give up on his development now. The value of having a second quality QB on the team is way underrated.

Terry had 11 targets today. He can’t get open guys. We have to realize that now. He’s not a great route runner he’s just fast. Against fast DBs he’s not as effective

He all of a sudden "can't get open" is crock of sh*t. I think the team is in a poor scheme. Not to mention, Howell is usually running for his life and isn't regularly going through progressions.

I bet McLaurin takes off again next season.

I agree. I was looking at Terry’s scores in RTM in getting open he had one very successful year 2019. Every other year his score is average and about the same. He is actually scoring higher this year than in 2021. We just view him as not getting open but he hasn’t since RR took over.

Howell definitely has to run for his life almost every fucking play. It’s so sickening

You really can’t judge Howell, our wr’s, our backs or EB with this train wreck oline. They allow for absolutely nothing to develop. It is priority number one.

Our entire defense outside of Payne is priority number 2.

On one series Sam got teh snap and literally got hit right away due to Leno's sorry ass. He's sooo bad

It's EB's job to help get him open. Put him in motion more. Line him up in different spots.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Look at the analytics he has never really gotten open except when Jay was here. Where Terry excels is in his catch rate. Where he is really struggling this year is YAC that is on EBs scheme for sure

This is what great OCs do. They adjust their scheme/plays to the people they have to work with. He should know that there isn't Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill on the Commanders. We don't have that explosive speed guy that his offense needs.

Which is mind-boggling because Dotson was supposed to be that guy. Small, skinny D-Jax type. I remember when we drafted him and all we heard was how he carries the ball around everywhere so he never drops passes.

The analytics remove all variables other than the receiver themselves. I am not sure what it is but something is going on with Terry. Not excusing EB’s play calling it has been awful but his YAC score is way down from previous seasons

Wonder if that turf toe injury is lingering from preseason.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

If McLaurin was going to have a down year, then this is the year to have it. This was always going to be a throw-away season. Might as well just sit him for the rest of the season if he's bothered at all by it.
