Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
what kind of strategy? like x-com?
civ games? if you want older games, gog.com has a ton of great ones, though the gfx quality isn't always super awesome. they're got heroes of might and magic 3 complete among other things. |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I can't get over how many people (Xbox fanboys/girls included) have already thrown it under the bus and said they're switching over to PS4. I'm a Sony fangirl so I was planning on going for the PS4 anyway, I just don't understand all of the hate.
Is it the TV thing? Is it because when they unveiled it they only pushed sports games? (I heard this complaint a lot) Is it because indie developers can't publish their games on the Xbox One? Seriously, I don't get it.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Nope. Always been a PS guy, I thought the presentation looked good yesterday until one of my coworkers (an Xbox fan) said that all the motion control stuff is already available through the Kinect. Either way the only thing that interested me on the presentation was the whole 15 exclusives thing. If none of them interest me I doubt I'll ever get one. Definitely leaning towards the PS4 anyway, even though none of the 4's new features are gamechangers for me.

More like, "I just bought this Xbox One game from Gamestop" used. That's what's not happening. Not backwards compatibility. Currently, PS3 isn't backwards compatible either, you can't play PS2 games, but you can go out and buy a used copy of Madden 2013 and play it freely.

I meant used games. It has been confirmed that the "restriction" on used games means that Microsoft will charge a fee for you to play a used game, much like EA's now defunct "Online Pass" deal. So you will need a Live subscription, pay for the used game you want to play and then pay an extra, as yet undetermined, fee to play your game. As I understand it, this "pass" is only good for your account so no letting your friends borrow the used game and play it unless they also pay the fee for their account.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Plus who cares about backwards compatibility. I never understood that with folks if yo uwant play a Gamecube game just play it on the game cube not the Wii.
