Head Coach of your own nfl team > winning a SB as a coordinator Basically he wants to be EB but without the balls to take the next step ; at least EB is willing to stick his neck out and risk the HC position Ben is just Josh McDaniels 2.0 ; don’t go around saying you want something then pussy out at the bitter end Fuck Ben Johnson ; go hire a leader with balls

I think he did say it, but that was after last season. Anyway I agree fuck him. Lol. Though I think his greed got in the way here. Thinks he is going to go be “the guy” in Detroit again and get the money next time. Dangerous game to play. |

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Oh well. I would prefer an offensive minded coach over defense but guess that might not happen now. Still not big on DQ might be a bit myopic of me but we have already tried an NFC south defensive minded retread that was supposed to be a leader of men.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
That would be true if Snyder was still the owner. He is not and it would be a completely different situation if Quinn is hired.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
The Ben Johnson news doesn't really shock me. Getting so close to the Super Bowl with a team that has never been has to be deeply challenging goal to shoot for

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Honestly feels like he is gonna regret it, not just the Commanders job but a number of good jobs open this year, you have to take the opportunity when it presents itself and your stock is at an all time high. He is never going to get a market busting deal as a first time head coach so he may have to settle for a less than great situation a year or two from now.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Also, way to sort of give all future teams that interview him the finger:
@NickiJhabvala Ben Johnson informed the Commanders and Seahawks today. The reason, I’m told: He wants to win a Super Bowl.
