Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Here's what trading back would look like:
1. Chicago - Caleb Williams 2. Atlanta - Trade with Washington, Jayden Daniels 3. New England - Drake Maye 4. Who cares? 5. Who cares? 6. Who cares? 7. Who Cares? 8. Washington - Who the Hell cares? We just got shut out on the top three QBs! |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
do you just roll with EB for a year and see what pops up next year versus settling for a dude that could just be wheel spinning for the next 4 years

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I shouldn't even need to debate you on this idea. Surely you must know why we shouldn't keep EB. Isn't it bad enough that Mayhew and Hurney are still around?

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Do you really want EB getting his paws on a highly routed rookie QB after seeing the way he handled Sam??

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
EB was a disaster for a young QB... Mahomes was the exception because he's literally a top 5 QB ever already. The odds of us landing a guy like that are like winning the lotto... Drake Maye, JD , Caleb , will all have to develop quickly

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Big changes in the front office weren't likely to happen right away. Front offices have been scouting and putting together intel for a couple months now. Next year is when we may see some changes.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
unless you gamble and lose. The only real reason someone would be trading up is for a QB. Unless Penix is tops on their board or something, you don't want to get fancy and end up shooting yourself in the foot.

Not suggesting gambling. Just utter due diligence and a well vetted maneuver that allows us to pick up Daniels somewhere between 3/4-6/7. Pipe dream? Sort of, but one that is doable. I wouldn’t trade past 6/7. I think we could get Daniels there. You would have to have a solid handle on what the other 5-6 teams want and whether they would trade out allowing some other team to move way up. That team would have to be willing to overpay heavily for Daniels. Worst case scenario we get some heavy duty compensation for 2, and start building one hell of a roster. Might have to wait another year for a quarterback but if it means a stud TE, OT, and G this time around I wouldn’t be that upset. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Hate it Punch.
You’ve been watching that Kevin Costner draft movie haven’t you? Waiting gets you a worst draft position and forces the team to accept the 4th or 5th best QB next year or you gotta trade up giving away all that draft capital you got in trading down plus more. Just two more wins next year and the team is drafting out of the top 10. These jackasses couldn’t get a top tier HC. I doubt they are going to pull off any big time draft trades. |
