Lol. Doesn’t hurt to have legends roaming around during the game.

Agree - and those dudes are legends. Crazy how close Gore came to being able to play alongside his kid. At that position too. Not like he’s a kicker.

I've seen a Mock with 3 different QBs taken at 2 lol

QB is 100% going to be the pick per the consensus anyway

Tore both his acl’s in college too. Went from “injury prone” to iron man.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Just finished JD tape. I’m all in. Dynamic athlete, duel threat with a very accurate arm. Arm strength is good enough, it’s not Drake maye level but it’s Caleb level.

Less than 100 days until Jayden Daniels joins the team. Leggo!

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Is it just me or do the opinions about all the top qb's seem to vary wildly? I'm seeing GM's/etc say they love Caleb Williams while others complain that he doesn't love the game/too soft/etc. Same thing with Drake Maye - the physical attributes are great but being compared to Mac Jones is terrible. Same with jayden Daniels. I can't remember the last time all the top qb's had opinions split like this, or maybe I just have a bad memory.

Its the time of year and there are half a dozen teams who would give their left arm for a shot at one of the top three QBs, so as usual you should believe nothing you hear coming from league sources. There hasn't been such a clear cut group of QBs in some time so normally they would not be being hyped so much before we have even had the Senior Bowl. Often, if at all, it is one guy like a Lawrence or a Burrow. Now there are three guys there are always going to be varying opinions. In the end you just have to trust the GM/HC know what they are doing and believe in their own evaluation process. Hopefully we can do that now.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

There have been a LOT of Total BUST with top QB picks .. I'm not even sure if it's 50/50 . Remember "Someone"thought Lance was the Guy in San Francisco that was a fail .. yea lucky they got Purdy to soften that blow , and to think every team in league passed on Purdy like 7 times before he was chosen last .. that tells me it's all a guessing game just like this coach search ..I actually could see Sam under different system/coaching being as good as some of these can't miss prospects.. you can't throw a rookie to the wolves in this league and expect good results.. One of these Top 3 Qb will fail you can bet on it !

I’d be willing to say 2 of the top 3 QBs fail and one of the later QBs excels.

The QB position is almost impossible to predict.

You draft them based on their potential and ceiling.

Even a “can’t miss” T Law is honestly avg as hell and has been his whole career so far.

Josh Allen comes in out of no where and is a top 5 QB. You honestly just never know

Sure but go back and look at the QBs drafted by round:
https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/qb

If you had a to choose a round in which you are going to find your franchise QB which round is it?

You are far more likely to find a good QB in the first than any other round.

Sure there will be busts but your odds on hitting are far better than later rounds. For every Brock Purdy you have to draft 20 Greg McElroys.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Definitely 1 of my top 5 favorite drafts I've personally done:

2. Jayden Daniels - QB - LSU
36. Ennis Rakestraw Jr. - CB - Missouri
40. Tyler Nubin - S - Minnesota
67. Patrick Paul - OT - Houston
100. Junior Colson - LB - Michigan
102. Sataoa Laumea - OT - Utah
137. Drake Nugent - OC - Michigan
180. Nehemiah Pritchett - CB - Auburn
219. Clark Barrington - OG - Baylor

We need to find the second coming of Tre’ Johnson (a healthy one) at G. He was an absolute animal when healthy, he mauled people.
