Redskins trade for Alex Smith

Andy Dalton hasn’t been the same since he left. Jay knows QBs and he knows how to run an offense. I’m sure he had a big say in getting Alex here.

It's just a perfect fit for both Alex Smith and Jay Gruden in my opinion. I mentioned it long before Alex was even going to be available that if I had my choice of possible FA to replace Kirk, I'd choose Alex Smith (I'm going to have to go back and find that post!)

I think learning under Andy Reid will also be a plus for Alex.

There should be a lot of similarities in the two offenses verbiage wise and with WC concepts, should be a smooth transition.

No. Bruce and Danny clearly aren't done messing with Cousins, first it was letting all the talent around him go last year and purposely signing Pryor to make Cousins look bad, then they lied about giving him a real negotiable contract last year too the media, Jay was probably calling plays to make Cousins look bad too but was so incompetent that it turned pit looking good, and now they've signed another old QB from Reid just to spite Cousins and without Grudens input, it's the Shanahan situation all over. They'll go all offense in the draft and FA this year to make it look like the right decision. Don't be surprised if they don't send someone to hit him in the knee with a lead pipe while they're at it.

Cousins would have got sacked or threw it right to one of the Browns guys.

Can't wait to see how our red zone improves with AS. I think it will be the one single biggest positives going forward.

Why? Other than last year which appears to be the anomaly of his last 5 years, Smith has not shown to be a points scoring machine. Is his ratio of drives-td's better than Kirks? I'm not seeing it. Biggest positive will be him not turning over the ball as much IMO.

Considering how many yards he throws for Cousins isn't an exactly a scoring machine either. Last two years he was 3rd and 7th in yardage, while the Redskins were 12th and 16th in points. Last I checked the team with the most points still wins.

Sometimes a QB needs the running backs to run and the receivers to catch and blockers to block to have good statistics.

Some even need a defense to give them the ball back and special teams to set them in a better position than 1st and 10 from their own 8... crazy!

Rumor: Kirk Cousins is seeking three-year deal with $90 million in guarantees

Guy is not even a top 10 qb but wants to be paid like he is the best.
