For example, after the Redskins scored their first TD late in the first half, the defense stopped the Seahawks and the Redskins had a chance to put some points before the half ended. Instead they went three out and had to punt the ball. They get the ball in the second half, and they only muster a FG. You can't beat good teams by giving up these opportunities. We're bad and have issues/injuries on both side of the ball.

[QUOTE=Ruhskins;1088385]Mistakes happen all the time, but our team cannot capitalize offensively on these mistakes or key defensive stops.
We're bad and have issues/injuries on both side of the ball.[/ On that drive Roberts had a pass that hit him right in the hands. That would have been a big gain. Instead...punt. Biggest missed play of the game. |

Yeah, I'm venting. Sorry .. its just the first week of October, and knowing that we have a less than 1% chance of going to the playoffs, it would be nice at least entering December thinking we have a chance...

We also had a lot 3rd and short non-conversions that killed us. I think that opening drive in the second half ended in a FG because of a missed 3rd and short.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Who cares about intensity? A defense can play with all the intensity in the world, but if they're not that talented, have injuries, and their offense can't do much (especially during key situations) intensity won't matter.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Perry Riley, c'mon man. You can't let some no name back up TE beat you like a damn drum. That was a great play by Wilson, rolling left and making a really nice throw. But Riley simply has to make that play. They need to start taking him off the field in passing situations. Every team is picking on him.

We also desperately need a good blocking TE. Niles Paul was horrible at blocking.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Disagree, I'm tired on hearing we have no talent on D, 5 years of it. We have some holes like Riley, but we also have some nice young talent Robinson, Amerson, Breeland. Our CB's give opposing WR like a 10 yards cushion. That's on the coach.

I agree with the cushion to the wr's. We've been doing that shit for way too long. Do they even teach bump and run at all??

Stats held up true on west coast teams struggling when they come to the east coast. We were just not good enough to capitalize on their mistakes.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
There is a reason they had to hire a brand new coach. This team is a project. To get to the point where Seattle is now it took Carroll and company 3 or 4 years to completely rebuild that roster.
This team is not close to where it needs to be to compete. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting this year. If 3-4 years from now they are getting the same result... then there is a problem. |
