How will this team be able to start a youth movement with no draft picks? This team has traded something like 15 picks in the last 3 years and next years 1st round pick belongs to denver. What we are seeing with this team is the result of mismanagement over the past 5 or 6 years and it wil not be changed until the management gets its head on straight. Unfortunately I see another 10 years of less than average football for this team. Its a shame.

As much as I hate to say it, the youth movement needs to start with the coaching staff.

How can anyone that has watched the Redskins over the last seven weeks, look at this team and think they have a snowballs chance in hell of winning out? They're doing exactly what they've been doing for the past decade. Starting strong, losing a bunch of close games that they should've won, and finishing right around .500.

And the worst part is, the problems are never the same from week to week. Last week, the O line looked good, and the passing game was working, but the secondary looked horrible. This week, they were great against the run, but the O line looked horrendous, and they couldn't get anything going offensively. It's like they patch one hole, and spring another leak the very next game. Good teams overcome their deficiencies, while Washington has theirs exposed week in and week out.

I'll buy that. Most everyone on their "picks" figured we would lose to San Diego, so i guess if we beat them and fall to Oakland its basically the same thing. I'm just worried we will go out and beat the Chargers, then lose to the f'n Cardinals or somthing. Just as were all getting happy and excited.

I disagree. A team will never gel into something great if it switches coaches year in and year out. If the players can learn to hold onto the ball, then we'd be talking about winning the division and battling for home field position in the playoffs.

I agree that changing coaches quickly makes it impossible for a team to gel. However, we no doubt will be changing coaches in the next couple years and will have to start all over again.

Maybe, maybe not. Joe's not the oldest coach in the league. Look at Joe P. coaching for Penn State. I think the guy is in his 80's or close to it.

Good point about Joe Pa. I guess it all depends on how long Mrs. Joe Gibbs is willing to put up with her husband working 80-hour weeks!

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

YES WE HAVE A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

We were supposed to win 1 out of Tampa and Eagles, 3 of the next 4 and 2 of the last 3 division games. WE DID WIN 1 out of tampa and ealges and we have lost one but if we win our next three we are money and back on track, had we won the raiders and lost to the chargers the season wouldn't be over! ITS NOT OVER! until we lose two more no way i bend over and take it.

who knows giants playing the seahawks at seahawks, and dallas playing denver we could be only one game behind. the next week giants and dallas play each other and one has to lose,so i am told, and we might be tied with one of them sons a bitches, we are going for the division and not stopping till we get there.

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

Gibbs and Co can start placing orders for wide screens to watch the playoffs. After today's loss I really don't see a realistic chance of getting in as a wild card.
