Re: Brunell Starting
That's a valid point about it might've been Musgrave....like someone brought up earlier. This might've been on the part of the coaching staff and not just Gibbs. Yes, Gibbs had part in it. But I'm sure it was most of the coaching staff.

Gibbs didn't make all the errors that caused the failures in the Offense resulting in a 6-10. Please post proof of Brunell saying he couldn't make that throw. Wow, things get really spicy during CowWhores week. |

RedskinRat - "Whoever Coach Gibbs pick is the best option?" Are you implying the Gibbs is, therefore, infallible or that we should all just accept whatever he decides without question?
We love the Skins just as much as Gibbs and it seems Gibbs is the only one who thinks Brunell should start next week. |

Twilbert07 wrote: "With this move, Gibbs is proving the game has indeed passed him by. He single-handedly has thrown the team into turmoil after one week. Now that's BAD coaching.
He'll stick with Brunell, and we'll go 6-10 again." Couldn't have said it better myself. This move is not only unfair to Ramsey and bad all around, but it creates unecessary and unneeded turmoil on the team. There are many guys on the team, including some team leaders such as Jansen, who want Ramsey in, not Brunell. Also, wonder how our new receivers feel, knowing that the QB will never be able to go long to them? I hope they're ready for 5-yard averages on their receptions. To those who dare question why many of us are angry with Gibbs, it's because this move is totally ridiculous and makes a mockery of Gibbs' previous statement that Ramsey was his starter. As someone else said, if you get benched for making mistakes in the first game, then Brown and several others also need to be pulled. |

Please save this post in archive....for those people that don't believe, make them eat crow when this is successful. Personally, and this kills me, we didn't stand a chance this week in Dallas with the offense whether its Ramsey or Brunell, it really doesn't matter. Unfortunately the turnovers and playing in front of a hostile crowd does not bode well for this team right now. I do think this team will still go 9-7 or 10-6 even with a loss Monday. It will take a few more weeks to iron out the few kinks left in the armour and this will be a dominant football team in November/December.

I'm not questioning Gibbs' loyalty, nor has anyone else who thinks this is a lame brain move on his part. I am beginning to question if he still has what it takes to make us a winner. So far, the jury is still way, way out on this one and his most recent decision has done nothing to convince me that he can make a go of it in 2005. |

Re: Brunell Starting
so after a couple of pre-season games and 3 regular season drives, we now want BRUNELL?? congratulations guys, the Redskins fans have now gotten as bad if not worse than Eagles fans. biggest 180 i've ever witnessed and for what, the chance that a hamstring was what made Brunell's passes suck last year?
i'm definitely dissappointed in Gibbs, for all his integrity, he couldn't have treated Ramsey any worse, i mean ANY worse. it would have been merciful to let him go, but keeping him this long is the worst torture and has killed both his esteem and value. i really hope he's pulling a fast one on Dallas and really having Ramsey behind center, else how could we believe anything else from Gibbs from here on out? all the talk and 'support' he gave Ramsey this off-season was BS? no way three drives equates to the season he TRASHED by keeping Brunell so long last season. |

Re: Brunell Starting
illdefined - You're 100% right. Three drives for Ramsey doesn't even come close to equalling the many games he let Brunell lplay ast season before he finally yanked him.
I used to revere Joe Gibbs, but after his disgusting treatment of Ramsey, I no longer do. Why should any of the other players believe anything he tells them from here on out? And that is the real danger in what Gibbs had done today. You won't read it in the papers, but you can bet that many of the players are talking about this among themselves and more than a few of them are probably just as disgusted as a lot of us are. |

Re: Brunell Starting
Let me say that i want to win no matter who the qb. With that being said, we gave Ramsey 1 qtr!! 1 qtr??? It was just on espn that ramsey gave gibbs a call and asked for a trade. 1 qtr? I hope brunell comes in and tears it up. I really do, but I remember last year. Gibbs promised Ramsey the job and took it after 1 qtr. I feel bad for the guy. Who has lost their job after less than 1 game? I know Gibbs knows what he is doing but I can't say agree w/ this harsh decision.

Re: Brunell Starting
our WR's last year left skid marks on their way out. you know Brunell hasn't had many reps with these new guys. how much confidence is the offense supposed to have now? how bout the defense? what's it going to take, another burned season? Brunell at 37?
Gibbs just did what he was brought in to PREVENT. even more instability, sure, pile it on, all those writers are going to be proven right. the most unstable franchise in the league. god i hope this is a trick for Dallas. |

Re: Brunell Starting
I am very upset about the treatment of Ramsey and I feel this will seriously stunt his growth as a star in the NFL, if he ever will become one.
Ramsey: 6/11 105 yards sacked 2 turnovers 1 Brunnel 8/14 70 yards sacked 1 turnovers 0 From Gibbs standpoint, I guess he feels Dallas will be blitz heavy and he wants someone in there who won' t turnover the ball and manage the clock especially if we take a lead. If brunnel can throw it deep successfully I agree with the decision otherwise I don't.

Re: Brunell Starting
I think Gibbs made the wrong decision, and I fervently hope I'm wrong. Everyone (except the trolls) on this board wants the Skins to win this week, all we are arguing about is what gives us the best shot.
I must say though, I'm a bit sick of the Gibbs worship. It seems like he could take us through a winless season and there would still be a contingent that would point to his three superbowl wins and say "He knows what he is doing!!" I wonder if there is anything we could agree on as a benchmark for if the game has passed Gibbs by or not. I would say anything less that 8-8 this season and my confidence in him is shot. I was a fan during those, what, 12 incredible seasons he was here before. I loved the way he ran the team, but this time around.. I don't know. I have a hard time respecting his treatment of Ramsey. |
