Re: Hawks post game

Cousins really needs to trust his receivers not named Crowder, Reed, V Davis and Ryan Grant. Brian Quick and Doctson came through big on routes Cousins has basically ignored the last several weeks. I really hope he builds on this.

Re: Hawks post game

This game was a season changer. A, "You Like That?" type of game. You don't go into Seattle and win, much less stand toe to toe with the Seahawks as a battered and beat up team that's starting back ups (even third stringers) on the offensive line and on the defense. Really showed that we need our offensive line back. Cousins was under duress almost all game long. He spent more time on his back than he did being able to step up in the pocket and deliver a clean pass. Just when you're ready to write Doctson off, he makes a big time play. There's still hope for that kid yet!

Big time win! I really thought Wilson had us in the end. We can also thank Seattle's kicker for missing three very make-able kicks. And we can also thank Seattle's offense for committing a myriad of penalties. But let's not take away from the 'skins, nobody (including a lot of us) gave the 'skins any chance at winning this game. Feels good to beat a quality team like Seattle with half your starters out.

And....welcome back DeAngelo Hall! That dude can still ball out!

mIn is going to be a tough game, that defense is just as nasty as Seattle's, BUT they don't have the QB so I think if we can get pressure again we should have a great shot

No doubt. We are in the brutal portion of our schedule. The Vikings, and then having to go to New Orleans to battle the Saints. If the 'skins can grab at least one win the next couple of weeks, you're looking at 5-5. The rest of the way, the schedule gets a lot easier, and possibly a chance to play the Cowboys without Elliott.

Still going to be tough, but let's see what happens.

Re: Hawks post game

Ryan Grant has quietly made himself a factor this season. I know that most of us would be happy to see Doctson, Crowder, Reed, and Davis getting 98% of the targets (writing off TP at this point). But that 23 yard dart over the middle, a pure hands catch in wet conditions, was just what Kirk needs with a banged up line. Can we rely on that in the same way we can rely on Doctson to go get deep balls? I'm not sure, and maybe Grant is just filling in for Crowder. But RG has shown something this year that most of us didn't see coming.

Re: Hawks post game

Defense gets the game ball. So many played great:
DeAngelo Hall first game back helped solidify the secondary. With Swearinger and Hall we have a dynamic dou at safety. When your secondary is playing like that it raises everyone's play and confidence. It is contagious.
Zac Brown and Will Compton led the team in tackles and played with confidence.
Terrel McClain had a game no defensive lineman has had for Skins in a long time.

On that list drive Kirk Cousin turned off the I am going to careful with ball attitude and let it fly. Wow. He needs to do that more often.
On a day we ran the ball for no yards KC carried the offense. It was said he could NOT do that....and against the best defense in the NFL. He proved his critics wrong.

Quick and Doctson, need to see more playing time.
Our back up O lineman are amazing.

This one, and the Oakland game are definite season highlights.

I agree, Grant this year has provided many key catches.

Re: Hawks post game

Ryan Grant has shut me up. I wanted him gone in preseason, but he is showing why Gruden had faith in him.

The Skins have a great opportunity to climb back in to the discussion but they need the next 2 wins, and that won't be easy at all.

Re: Hawks post game

I loved Anderson lining up at FB and the Skins pounding the 2 touchdowns in. That was a new look. And it was an excellent Redzone/Short yardage look.

Re: Hawks post game

Anderson also showed up getting after the QB. I had started to forget about him.

He was filling in for Niles Paul, could become an option in the future.

Re: Hawks post game

HTTR!!! Great win. With one thing you could not expect from this team: winning late in the 4th!

Positives:

-D !!!

-Manusky: great team effort!!! With key contributors in Allen, Foster and Ioannidis, guys stepped up and played better than ever! This man is a really good coach!

-Callahan. Not one healthy starter (Moses' ankles are not ok), this is amazing that they managed to get 2 good drives when needed most.

-Roullier

-Compton: even without the INT he was having a great game, shedding blocks and making plays in the running game, making the most out of his second chance! Gotta say I really didn't believe in him. Congrats!

-KC. You like that?

-Lanier

-Brian Quick

-Docston: finally! No drop, great catches! That's a 1st round pick!

Negatives:

-TJ Clemmings: getting beat way too easily, bad vision, safety is on him. He's just bad.

-Catalina got beat way too much too.

I'm pretty sure every sack were on one or both of these 2.

- Not a real negative cuz he had a good game but Zach Brown has to improve in zone coverage, again to me he tries to key the eyes of the QB too much and forgets to actually look if there are receivers in his zone. Cost us big yards on the first hawks TD drive.

Question mark:

Hall. He had a really good game but wasn't he playing free safety responsible for the deep zone on the Baldwin TD were Norman got beaten?

Re: Hawks post game

It's hard for me to believe that they can lose to either NO or MIN after what I saw last night...especially if they start to get healthier. Will be huge for the wild card tiebreaker.

I don't know about RK and SP returning kicks though. Do we not have anyone else to do that - someone with some speed?

No Scherff didn't play. The announcers said he was in the first drive but he wasn't. Catalina all the way. Scherff never wore his helmet on.
