Kory L second best? You better check up on that Monty and Chester game son
I watch them all. They're all good (except Polumbus). I just remember profootball focus last year saying that Chester and Montgomery had given up sacks and Kory didn't and he graded high as one of the best guards in the league last year with his limited play.

Of course its last year, but for a guy coming off two knee surgeries, he's looking pretty damn good.

I expect Coach Haz to dial up those exotic blitzes on Russell Wilson.

Offensively, the Redskins 5th ranked offense will be interesting to watching against the Seahawks 4th ranked defense. Both Alfred Morris and RG3 running the football may help set up the play action pass.
Oddsmakers think Seattle is a little better than we are. The two option read QB's that they have faced they have totally shut it down. RG3 isn't 100%. Plus they probably have a better defense than we do and are around the same on offense. Those are probably the reasons they're slightly favored.

Oddsmakers don't set the spreads based on who they think is better necessarily, it's all about getting as even amount of $$ as possible bet on both teams. That's why the spread fluctuates, if too much action is going down on one team the spread changes to account for that and to get more $$ bet the other way.

They do on Monday. Then as $ comes in the line will move around. The line opened at Washington -1, which is still saying they think Seattle is better. The money so far is on Seattle which is why it's moved 4 points.

Re: Seahawks Redskins Rookie Showdown

I saw today that the redskins are 20-1 favorites to win the super bowl. Only the Bengals and Cardinals have worse odds..

No, they don't.

Oddsmakers don't try to predict the outcome of the game when setting point spreads. If a team is favored by seven points, that doesn't mean that the oddsmaker necessarily thinks it will win by seven points. The oddsmaker's goal when setting the line is to keep an equal number of bets on both sides of the game. The betting public's perception of the game can be as important as the actual comparison of the two teams.

Re: Seahawks Redskins Rookie Showdown

I listened to it and that wasnt his initial statement. He initially stated he'd wear it the rest of the year. They they asked the question back to him, "so youre saying youre going to wear it the rest of this season?" and RGIII backtracked a bit and provided a more ambiguous response and went on to make the quoted statements.

Seemed clear to me hes going to continue wearing the brace but he doesnt want to let teams know hes going to continue wearing the brace. He definitely did not seem happy about it though.

Re: Seahawks Redskins Rookie Showdown

I re-watched the Panthers game to remind myself of what life was like before The Streak. Some observations:

1) Our schemes on both offense and defense now are much more creative
2) Our receivers are dropping the ball much less
3) Believe it or not, Tyler Polumbus is playing better. Although he still gets run over, the frequency is less
4) We haven't blown as many coverages and so are not giving up 80 yard plays
5) We have significantly cleaned up our act in terms of penalties
