Chris Wilson played well in the preseason. He got a sack for a safety. But he's not Brian Orakpo and people want to see Wilson and Rob Jackson do the same things as Orakpo did. That's not going to happen simply because neither Jackson or Wilson are as talent as Orakpo. What Mike Shanahan needs to do is get another free agent signing with someone who can rush the passer just like Orakpo. Sure, it may cost money. But at least if Orakpo goes down with injury again this new free agent can step in and there will be no drop off like what happening now.

We add 2 corners in the draft and free agency. We add another safety through the draft and hopefully sign a quality Free Safety. Cut Gomes as well.
Oh yea we can. I'm ready to cut all of them right now and bring in a bunch of young healthy faster talent. I'd be looking at the other teams practice squads and putting them on the active roster. They certainly couldn't be any worse then how our secondary has been and it would give them decent playing time and decent evaluation time to see if they are worth keeping for next yr. .......since we are now in evaluation mode. lol.

Bringing in free agents doesn't seem to work around here, or in general around the league. We have to hit some home runs in the draft.

It would never happen but you're probably right. Sadly, the amount of money you make determines playing time.

Re: Defensive Parts

Why isn't Gomes playing? Has he fallen out of favor with the coaches? As a rookie Gomes started all throughout last season and has a pick this season but we haven't seen much of him since week 2. Why? What does Madieu Williams, Reed Doughty, and Pugh have that Gomes doesn't?

Re: Defensive Parts

Im sorry but orakpo... gets held every time he rushes and he also only has like one move (which he vowed to work in but did not) and he's not as effective as everyone thinks ... maybe if he recovers 100% he will be who we want him to be but in this vanilla ass scheme and defense... he hasnt.been, since his rookie year, and wont be... the player everyone thinks he is..n believe me it was hard for me to come to grips with this i love rak ... but he's just not elite

Re: Defensive Parts

Seriously... think of.it... orakpo/wilson DE .. cofield/jenkins DT... carriker/golston DT ... kerrigan/jacksin DE.... fletcher MLB ... Riley OLB... see our team just filling in linebackers as D lineman because.of poor drafting?? ... forcing ends to be LBs because of poor drafting?? ... not the current regime fault.but i also used to see SOOOOO mamy more exotic looks with eilliams EVEN BLACHE... minus the 10ydyou corner cusion that i DESPISE! ... we need the transfer back to 4-3... we just do... our players would all benefit so much from it and be more preductive... so sick of ud forcing shit on playet for the past few years smh... rant over.. phone typing sux..

Seriously?

Cofield and Jenkins would be fine. Carriker failed miserably in St. Louis at DE and DT. That's why we got him for next to nothing. Golston isn't a starting. A starting caliber DT. Fletcher is not good anymore. And orakpo has yet to play DE in the nfl. By the way, the 4-3 limits what you can do as a defense in terms of where the blitz is coming from.
